Yeah we are kinda a disgusting amalgam of smaller living things. Like an ant bridge; just in the form of a person doing normal person things.

Ever hear about people getting fecal transplants? Literally taking someone else’s shit and shoving up yer ass to provide proper bacteria colonies which hopefully get established.

I learned that from South Park just weeks ago, ep. called "Turd Burglars". If I didn't know any better I'd had thought it was just a funny joke but I know there's always a grain of truth to all things they say. What the actual fuck...

I just tamp it down using an empty tub. As long as it’s the same kind, it’s a super easy way to get a very even sub
I've always used just my hands just to feel er up and get personal but I must admit that out of all the ways I've read to level the sub this is the one that sounds most legit.
I should give this shit a shot.
Takes 5 sec to get it damn near perfectly even. I’ve always been pretty meticulous about an even substrate, and would spend forever using my hands to make it nice and level. It was probably the thing that took the longest to do when making tubs. But ever since I started using another tub to level it, I can crank out tubs pretty damn fast!

Guilty as charged. I'm a perfectionist too and can spend a crazy amount of time just leveling the sub but I'm never satisfied, it's not even funny.

I'm clean all the way up until the point that the agar is safely with the grain. After that, I don't even wash my hands when I touch anything.

Dude the fecal transplants are insane. People have developed the same allergies as the donor, metabolism and body type will change. It’s crazy all the stuff they’re learning about microbiomes.
Here mushhead I know just the beer for you.

I still remember in science class in 7th grade we saw a video on microscopic life. There was videos of these little eel looking things that live in your eyelash follicles.

Yeah man the studies that I have read about this topic are like scifi shit. In the same way that a CPU is a rock that we've tricked into thinking, we really are just giant petri dishes of cultures pretending to be higher life forms.

I thought about this the first time I tried Molly. I was sitting outside watching all these really tiny ants run around. They seemed as if they knew what their purpose in life was and they were seeing it through. They were so tiny yet I felt inferior. I found myself looking up at the stars asking myself who's petri dish we were in.

On the topic of gut bugs, they manufacture like 90% of our seratonin. Probably responsible for a lot more, I know I've read stuff about cognition too. We eat some wack shit these days and I think we'll learn that we're not only feeding "ourselves" but the amalgam of organisms that make us up, and that by eating junk we might not be selecting the most beneficial ones to us.

That's the most mycology related noggin nugget i've heard today. Love it.
Are we the mycelium, or the bacteria though?
