When I took my oats out the pc this morning one of the 8 jars had a mushy, moist ring of oats stuck around the bottom ring that no amount of shaking would dislodge. I'll watch it carefully but will this almost certainly mean contams? the other 7 look fine

Are AA printable? Do the spores drop okay or do they have to be swabbed?
Looks like you got Avery’s normal, leucistic and albino all in one. Aa+ drop crazy heavy prints.

A friend of mine gave me a bag of oats to try and I'm officially on team fuck oats. It took just as many rinses as wbs, required a massive pot and they're wet af after drying for like 2 hours. I just ordered more rye because there's just simply not a better option for me

I prep my oats when I get home from work, no rinse, as the waters getting hot almost to boiling stir and skim the crap from the top. Throw in a strainer for awhile. Throw in fridge overnight, next day, ready to go. I usually prep and PC oats every night. I've only got 1 PC, so 10 a night. I technically have 2 but only 1 burner. 2 PCs running every night destroyed the plug that plugs into the element.

Picture? Could have any water/steam gotten in that one jar.

Possible, I followed bods Tek so only let them dry til those I tested barely left a mark on a paper towel. I dried them in strainers and although I stirred a couple of times it's possible it was moisture trapped in the oats.
I'm confused now about how dry they should be I presumed based on this Tek you didn't want them too dry but people are talking about leaving them over night.
I'll post a pic when I get home soon.

Congratulations on 1000
Here is the suspect jar, none of the other 7 are like this. I'm just using sfd stickers on the lids and didn't foil them before pc-ing.

Anyone ever have grains colonize only internally? I can see white on the ends of each oat but not on the outside of the hull. Does that mean the grain is finished being eaten?

Not being able to PC your grain the same day you prep it is a huge deal breaker for any grain.
I guess if you got a steady rotation going where you always have a load in the fridge and a load being prepped it works out though

Yeah, I usually do. I haven't had any issues with it. If I get home early or it's a weekend. I lay out a window screen on a towel and spread them out for an hour or so.

Cause I dont wanna be waiting 2 days to PC shit when there are other grains that allow you to do it the same day you prep. Like I got other shit to do out here than spend 2 days on one grain cook.
Like right now I gotta go out in the near 1" of snow to shovel a path to roll this damn wagon of bags to my flow hood house cause this shit's heavy

Oh I couldn't tell if you where saying putting grains in the fridge until PC is bad practice.
Cause I do it all the time and it's fine in case anyone else was confused about what you where saying.

I like to soak, grain takes a boiling (or pressure hydration) better this way imo. I feel alone sometimes.

So it's almost like 3 days for me to prep this dirty ass barley I'm rocking but I don't have an issue with that either. I wish I had access to those clean pristine wheat kernels from heaven you guys use.
