If it's the one I sent you, that metal handle is really shitty white metal. You can just bend it back and forth a few times and it'll break wherever you want it to. Or if you have some shears you could just clip it with that.

I hate Ziploc bags. Lost so many fruits not even a year old. Now I store only a couple Oz's at a time in zips these days, and the rest in vacuum seal.

People put too much store in the ubiquitous zip-loc bag's abilities. It is neither moisture nor air tight.

Its super cool that my dehydrator runs at 160. I get them cracker dry and pasteurize them at the same time

That's the general consensus. But it doesn't make sense to me and never has.
Maybe it's just bad info I picked up somewhere along the line that never got resolved?

I store all my fruits in bags in the freezer. I've found if they absorb water in a bag you can re-dry with a desiccant to get back up to potency. I've had to do it a couple times now.

Huh? I'm pretty sure once potency is lost theres no regaining it.

Yea, I transfer with inoculation loop. Scrape very small amount of mycelium from agar plate, dip inoculation loop in fresh agar. The mycelium climbs up and grows out. Also use inoculation loop for streaking, and have successfully used it to scrape tissue and clone a fruit.
