I have never cared for opium or anything sedative. Cannabis is the closest I get to sedated. I eat Adderall like pez. I have lupus and have for 9 years. So I'm tired all the fucking time. I got the script 3 years before diagnosis. Didn't know why I was so exhausted. The amphetamine helps considerably. I still use energetic strains of kratom to help. So in 08 to 10 I never needed it or wanted it. But as the internet shares poppy tea recipes etc the price rises. Find a good Afghan or Asian store. Sell fresh unwashed seeds by the pound. I paid 3 a pound last year and a few cups had me worried about overdose for a minute. It's not ideal but works

@mushhead- bro you can do it. I never thought I'd be where I am today. I always thought you had to be rich to do this but you absolutely do not. Just save up a few grand, apply for the right kind of loan, or even buy a bit of property in cash and build on it over years. Land can be had for 1k or less per acre in some areas.
Yep I'm already all over it, I'm looking for some land within an herb legal state. I'm a horticulturist, botanist, and now mycologist. I'm obviously an amateur mycologist but I've got a green thumb that'll push dirt. I need space to grow my plants. My cactus too.

It's too simple to just grow your own somniferum m8. three-six flowers bled and then seeds washed, pods brewed... Much better than going and buying some dirty seeds to wash and make into hillbilly opium.

Oh I agree. But if you have pain so bad you consider suicide, and it's all that's available, it'll work. And I did try after the wreck. I was a nurse for 15 years before leaving the field. Had my husband not known a diabetic coma signs and that I don't have diabetes I'd have succeeded. 50 units of insulin from Walmart. The pain was that bad early 2019. Much better now. Even kayaked white Rapids again and hiked the mountains in Colorado last September. But it was a long journey there. And if I had to go through it again I'd end it

My deepest sentiment to you ivey, I to have suffered a major car accident when I was the mere age of nineteen which took from me for four years the use of my left arm. That experience cannot compare to yours and truly glad you're here today.

Thank you. It was bad. But I think to some extent it made me a better person. My kids and I even closer and I don't procrastinate on the bucket list items any longer. Don't get me wrong I can still be a bitch. Any political discussion and I can alienate everyone in 3 sentences or less. But mostly nicer.
And don't diminish your experience comparing it to me. That experience is valid and traumatic. I am so glad it wasn't worse. I worked as medic in military and while finishing nursing. I have sat and cried over bodies. Every wreck is a stroke of luck to survive

I just got 120lbs of WBS gratis from a fellow mycologist I know locally that grabbed it at a good deal and decided to share. What a guy, I've only prepped WBS a few times and found it really messy but hey what can ya do right? Anyone have a suggested method for the quickest prep? I would like to get all this jarred up asap. EDIT: Yeah I have looked through the search function, just seeking out opinions on process. You see I wash the WBS and remove all the sunflower seeds completely. I pick out any sticks and I now have a sieve I can use to remove the stones from it too. With that said, I think giving it a 24 hr hot water soak and short boil would work okay before PCing as that's what I've done before. Though I was wondering if there could be a way to speed that up?

Bring enough water to cover the grain to a boil, pour over the grain in a bucket. Cover and let steep for about 40-60 mins. Strain/load/PC
OR
prepless wbs
I linked Caps cause its the write up I could find easy. Aka has some ratios around here as well.

This is my type of view! I’ve got the cow pasture in sight from back deck now but the 5acre cutdown behind it will soon be home to bigger pond and about 2-3acre of millet

My first ever grow brf cakes have been in watertub 4 days now and several of them have got these stumpy boys growing right at the base almost in to the foil. Is this normal?

Thanks guys, despite going for the watertub over sgfc so I didn't have to worry about misting and fanning so much (the most daunting part to me as a rookie) I still find myself misting alot. I can't get the top of the cakes to collect beads but the foil and base seem maybe too wet. I'll calm it down a bit.
I also have 5 Qts of whole oats on their way with 4th gen agar transfers so get to do something bigger quite soon

Was doing agar work and opened up one of my PP5s that had some gnarly bacterial contamination I was going to poke to clean up. Smell hit me and I hurled immediately right into my mask and all over my damned shirt/pants.
That's enough for today. If a fish could be a whore and do whore things then that plate smelled like whore fish pussy.

I have covid currently, symptoms since 11th, positive test on 14th, feel much better already after a shitty week but I can't smell a thing so I'm missing the beautiful scent of my first fruit. Would have been a blessing for you by the sounds of it!!
I did some agar transfers a couple of days ago, hope I'm not creating a covid positive strain!

You're not the only one this has happened to m8.
stupidly I had a plate like that, decided to give it a nice whiff. Immediate evacuation of my stomach. Nowadays plates like that don't get opened and go directly into the fire pit.

That's crazy. My first ever attempt at oysters via a kit ended like that. No fruits, just a bag of sub sitting in rotten fish liquid. That was the first and last mushroom kit of any kind I will ever buy. That's a rough day starbones. Hopefully tomorrow will be less spontaneous.
