It’s surprisingly tough to find anything useful on them without going off shroomery.
Plus it seems like everybody has a totally different method.
Lol I just ran my first couple hwfp bags and made the mistake of adding the pellets and water to the bag and then spinning it shut to let it absorb. That completely ruined the creases and gussets and made it super hard to close up.
I'll be doing a run of 80 or so bags here soon and I'll get a write up done as I do it. I use 2 prestos (6 bags each) and a 921 (4 bags) so it takes me a few runs but I nearly never have popped bags.

This is me spent piles, one of which IS in A wheelbarrow. The box was in hopes to yield extra spent sub fruits, but there's only been some outside the box

Yup 6x 4qt bags per presto. Well around 4qt per bag. I'm not exact with my measurements

Looking forward to bag writeup, Homes
Currently Living in holy matrimony with bags contaming
Tried:
- less grain - sealed - unsealed - agar drop into bag - lc into bag - mycel grains
80-90% contam rate. Even with 3-4 hours of pc
Simply do not understand, not having these issues with jars. There's some super error I'm doing
Always green, and usually A good way from inoculate point, suggesting failed sterilizing

Update: the five mason jars look to be almost entirely colonized, except the bottom. Also, noticed that there's a bunch of pinning on mycelium.
I was going to birth the cakes this weekend but should I wait until the bottom of the jars are fully colonized? Should I be concerned with the pinning fruits?

Are these BRF jars? Sounds like they are. Usually when this occurs it can be a few things. The bottom could be dry and the myc is unable to colonize it. The bottom could have bacteria causing the myc to stall out when reaching that area of the jar. There are other instances, these are just the most common. When this happens with my cakes I just top fruit the jars that are affected.

Yes, BRF jars. The mycelium look very healthy with no apparent signs of contam.
With all the pinning, it feels like they are ready to birth.

Just bear in mind that birthing a BRF cake that isn't fully colonized could cause contamination in the uncolonized areas. There are many that would suggest that you cut off the uncolonized BRF, but I just top fruit the jars and it saves me the time and effort.

Does isopropyl alcohol kill cube spores? Before immediately saying note that many spores survive ISO totally unharmed, it used to kill bacteria mostly, afaik. I was piddlin' around with some stubborn ones today, wishing I had some sterile water to squirt on the print, so on my last two plates I tried squirting some alcohol onto the foil to loosen em up.
If it works it'd be cool! Less bacteria and all. But I imagine if it worked we'd be doing it..
