Thanks mushhead you did, I'll just get the closest to 6500k bulb I can find in a local store.

I had planned to just use sunlight but this thread changed my mind.

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25371370#25371370

If a 5000k works for you then that's all I need to know

I take it back. Just rewatched three of them and can't find it, but I might have been thinking it was the part from "cloning tissue" starting at 5:40. It has a ring around it but is also milky looking. I think I may have catalogued that aspect in my head incorrectly and tossed plates maybe I shouldn't have... Check out that section see what you think.  And I'll check again later some of the others.

Anybody else use unmodified plastic jar lids?

Reason being, I was curious to know how good they are at keeping contams out if I am tightening them to shake them and loosening them to breath.

Left a cap out to print last night and woke up to it looking like this:

I did drop it in the FC. My thinking is this is bacterial.

I have other caps printing today while I'm at work. But if I get back to find them like this as well I'm guessing something is up with the whole grow and that it's probably not worth keeping any of the fruit?

Just attempted my first sub prep - I had a 650g coco coir brick in a 5 gallon bucket, followed the method of 650g x 5 = 3.25L of boiling water that went inside the bucket on top of the brick - put the lid on and left for 7 hours. I have seen online that this should be the correct method to get it to field capacity - however, mine was far too wet when I squeezed it.

1) Should I have just leave it longer next time, ie 10 hours?

2) If its too wet, could I just chuck in some vermiculite next time to reduce the water?

Where did you read that? Standard bucket Tek is a brick and 2qts verm and 4qts h2o.

That would be about 3qts for the brick and half a qt of h2o per qt of verm.

So you should have had approximately 3qts to hydrate that brick according to standard bucket Tek thinking.

Leaving it won’t help it absorb any more. You can use verm to soak some up, or wring it out as you fill your tubs. I would prefer the later because I don’t know about using verm in room temp water. Could be a bacterial issue that arises although I can’t be certain

I don’t know what I’m talking about. Verm should be inert

People use room temp verm all the time, it's an unsterile procedure.

I've spawned cubes to potting soil compost and they do fine and that's literally dirt and animal shit.

I think he got his math from the same place I did except I dont use verm... ive always done 1 to 5, coir to water... maybe its my brand of coir or something but ive never had an issue with field capacity at that ratio...

Thanks, I will do that next time.

I got it from this snap shot from a vid and I done the top one.

All pressure canners, including "self-venting" pressure canners, need to be vented 10 minutes before the pressure is allowed to rise to be certain that all air is removed from the pressure canner.

If there is AIR in the pressure canner, the temperature is much lower than if the canner contains only water and steam. "

Anybody have any thoughts on this, my first mono tub?

It’s a Pasty EZ dialled... although it’s clearly not dialled as I had to mist.

Before:

After:

It’s 4 myco quarts to 468g of coco (because it’s what I had left over from a brick I pillaged for another grow). Spawned Dec 21. Smells food, but there is that one yellowish drop appearing.

My guess would be that it came into contact with alcohol. Did you spray alcohol
on the surface tou dropped it on?

Oh wow. Potentially, that's definitely a very possible reason. I was a bit trigger happy!

Now I think about it, I sprayed the tub I put over the print but didn't wipe it off, so it's very possible some dripped onto the foil. There was liquid on the foil in the morning but I just assumed it was water.
