So I'm nearly finished constructing my magnetic stir plate. I just need to made a stir rod. I have a small magnet to use, just not sure what to coat it in so it doesn't rust and it has some buoyancy. Any ideas?

This: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15635645 or You can take a piece of tube put the magnet inside and seal the ends with silicone. That's pretty ghetto style but it works.
Anyway.. I recommend to use real PTFE coated stir bars. They are worth the money.

I have a decent question. Bleach doesn't kill trich, right? So wouldn't that mean any old triched out tubs are trich laden forever? I know once you introduce it to open air, it's hit with a lot. But setting it into a tub full of trich spores?

No problem if you clean your tubs with soapy water. If there are some spores left they have a very hard time to germinate on colonized grain or coir. I am still using trays for pans with manure based substrates that were contaminated a few times. No problems in following grows with the same trays.

the top one looks slightly matted. keep an eye on it. give that one lots of fae.. more then you think you should. just mist more often to keep the surface moist.
thanks man, the myc actually came to the surface and colonized the casing that way... its so weird at first i thought it was all trich! but its jusrt super thick...so strange.
i keep beads of water on it, and wave the tote lid over it 3 times a day, the tub is propperly dialed. no fan in room. Quote:

Hey guys, I have a general question to using agar plates for rye inoculation.
Lets say:
I have cloned two mushroom on two plates. Now I transferred a lot from these plates so I'm now in the sixth and seventh generation (number of transfers from the clone tissue plate).
Some of the plates show a nice isolation grow, some aren't isolates but at least rhizomorphic and some are tomentose. I want to use all the plates, since I don't care about isolates, rhizmorph or tomentose and I almost use all the myc I have.
Now is it a problem to use let's say a plate from generation 6 with isolation growth to inoculate two rye jars and a plate of the fifth generation with tomentose growth to inoculate two other rye jars and then at the end spawn all 4 jars to one Mini Mono?
Or shorter: Can Myc be mixed up eventhough it doesn't show the same growth style and is from two different clone tissues AS LONG as it is the same strain (Mazatapec)?
Or will it cause problems in the growth? Or shall I at least try to spawn the isolate jars alone and the others together?
For Example - upper plate is 5th generation, tomentose, a clone from mushroom 1. Lower plate is 6th generation, rhizomorphic, maybe even an isolate, a clone from mushroom 2. But both are Mazatepec cloned from the same tray.

Sorry for the complicated question but it's quite hard for me do explain complicated things in english

no it wont matter, your fruits will just vary more - size, shape, potency and growth rate

So they don't "fight" each other or hinder each other in colonization, growth and so on?

I need to get some stir bars, what size should I order? The vessels for lc I'm going to be using are quart mason jars and smaller.

This or just place a drop of LC in the middle of the dish. My petri dishes absorb at least 2 drops of water after 2-3 days. Place one drop next to the dish just to figure out how hard you have to push to get out just one drop. I inoculate a test jar with 1-2cc + a dish to test my LC.

If it's a proven lc syringe why put it to agar?
I'd just shoot up some jars
