The thing with Kings is the stem is the part you want to eat, Where with other oysters the stem is inedible. That’s why kings do ok in tubs cuz it’s not a problem if you have low fae.
I ran some in a shoebox of like 70/30 hwfp/coir. I couldn’t get them to fruit in the high 70s so I had to put them in the fridge at night but they did fine. This was my first try and I let it sit for almost two months before putting it in the fridge at night.
There’s tons of threads about kings in monos too.

Lions mane fruited in the heat with 15% Rh before I noticed and got it in an fc. Very easy.

I just mixed grain spawn with hwfp and crammed a grocery bag full.

Hey there,
its my first post after years of a break in growing because of a move to a new appartment without the possibility to grow. Got a new one just for myself now with lots of space, so I wanted to join the mushcommunity again.
Started the same way like years ago with agar, made 40 dishes now in two steps. In both ways I have a big problem with condensation now - First try I thought it was because the agar was way to hot, tried it now with agar which was close to solidify but same result, I have horrifying condensation in 90% of the dishes. Stacked the during the whole work ins stacks between 10 to 20er stacks as usual.
Any ideas how to fix this for the next try? The condensation makes it very difficult to get a clean view and I think it destroys everything when it drips down.
Thanks in advance!

These are great for shoeboxes, but terrible in general. I wouldn't recommend growing kings this way, sorry AK. No offense brother.
70s is no good, you need low 60s high 50s for kings.

If your pouring close to the solidifying point and still getting bad condensation then I'd say keep your plates in a room that doesn't have huge temperature swings.

The plates with really bad condensation just wrap with parafilm, stick in ziploc bag and let them sit a couple of weeks and they'll clear right up.
I usually only see bad condensation on the lids of the plates that were sitting on the top of the stack.

I find that letting them sit unwrapped in front of the hood for an hour, 30 mins one side and then rotate, or in the SAB for a few hours will solve any issue with condensation irrespective of pouring temp. I pour hot and my plates are crystal.

I let mine sit in front of my flowhood for a couple hours too before wrapping.
Any time I've had bad condensation issues it was because the room I was keeping them in the temperature was fluctuating a lot. Cooler temps at night. And higher during the day

In a SAB, leaving then stacked for 24 hours or so before wrapping can greatly reduced, even nearly eliminate, condensation problems IME.

Rate my oyster grow? Pearl Oysters being kept at 20-21c. The tub was the only one that could keep the humidity needed. suggestions welcome.

Just oysters as far as I'm aware, it was a LC i picked up from a reputable source. Nothing seemed wrong with it to me. so Its rye grain spawn to supplemented saw dust, mostly maple.
I used Lipa's tek to pasteurize.

Yep, I've constricted the filter patch hole by wrapping it with a rubber band. I cut two X shaped holes in the top front and the back. Then I had three different sized tubs all set up and had them sitting for a few hours after a misting, measured the humidity in each, and picked the highest holding humidity chamber I had. I figured out he was joking after I posted, sorry m8.

Do you use the SAB with the lid still attached? Because you could leave the lid off, use it flipped upside down (so the "lid" would be the floor), and prop up the back wall on shoeboxes.

When they start to feel a little squishy, it's harvest time!
