So I've had grain sitting in bags that were heated in my pc an then abandoned for 2 or 3 days. Can they just be sterilized and be gtg? I smelled them and they smell fine.

If they smell fine I would totally just pc them
Even if they smelled kinda sour I bet they would be fine but I have personally tossed grains that sat too long and started to get a funky smell after hydration.
I've had a couple times where I got caught up with bullshit and left hydrated grains sitting for 48 hours in bags before sterilizing and they all worked fine.

10% sounds like your cutting a bit high. But if you need to worry about stembutt weight making a difference in yields then your doing something wrong.
The bags should be fine. Make sure the grain is dry and maybe rebag them so they dont clump. Ive resused grain from burst bags plenty of times

I took it apart and wired the fan up which still runs just fine, it's the thermal fuse that blew, the heating element won't turn on. Ordered some extras to see if I can fix the fucker but I am curious if anyone has ever taken on fixing one of these things?
Worried the fuses might be a bit too short...they don't get crimped in they wrap around a rivet on each end. All the ones I could find seem like they might be a cm or so short.
Will update whenever these arrive from china, maybe even make a TEK on fixing it...I imagine this has had to happen to other members here...this is what I get for running the thing 24/7 for a couple weeks
Right here.
Mine didn’t even work for very long, just wouldn’t turn on one day. It’s still sitting in the corner cuz I had planned on doing what you did and digging around but never actually did it. Definitely keep us posted how it turns out.

I figured as much. I've never hydrated, almost brought to pressure 4 times and then abandoned grains for 2 to 3 days before. They look and smell perfect so
I've got them loaded in the 75x now. I found some grandfather clock weights to hold them down.

I've had this thing for 2 years and it has dried like 15-20 lbs of mushrooms (dry weight) over that time
So I guess I got my moneys worth out of it but yes once the fuse arrives if I can make this thing work again I will make a thread

That is very close to what I have done as a quick and dirty method. I have been using the open blade of my shears in the same way essentially. I like the filet knife idea though, much more precise.

Ten percent was comedic exaggeration lol With a fair amount of mush grown in my career so far, I am not loosing sleep over this tub or that tub let alone a bit of harvest wastage, but having said that I do love not letting anything go to waste

That is what I do too! Teas, edibles, or honey!
I was just was curious if anyone had any nifty ways of doing things that might make things easier / more efficient for me. I'm a sucker for efficiency. Thanks fellas!

Can you assume the amount of blueness that comes after you cut a stem is a indication of how strong the shroom will be?

Well anyway, getting spores to germinate has been a bitch and a half for me ever since I picked up cultivation a couple years back. Recently I've been fairly successful but almost never on agar in a petri for some fuckin reason. Which irks me since I can't look at it under a scope.
I'm hoping this is some APE germinating, and I would like to hear what anyone thinks who's had some experience in microscopy. I notice in the last pic that there is some more distinct hyphae, which has me thinking that it is dikaryotic whereas the other hyphae that don't stand out well may be monkaryons.
Hope some of you find this interesting.

Bro got this GT from a Dweb vendour paid 200 for one print. Its like someone spilled a jar of ink when you cut a stem! I've never seen anything like it! This dudes probably refined these genes for a decade or something
Exciting stuff

For me I find germinating on harder agar mixes to be a cunt but it's easier to get clean transfers as the myc isn't outpaced. The inverse I find true, far easier more reliable germ, bacteria runs wild. I hate germinating on agar period but I got talked into it by the community here.
I can flick an ants dick worth of spore using the tip of a needle into 10ml of sterile weak LC and get germination quicker than oil-slicked seal shit though. Old habits die hard and now I've got RW, probably some mold too but I want some fruities to take tissue from.
