What gets me is he's like oh I made 20g into tea and kinda felt it but it might be psychosomatic. Bro, if you can't tell after 20g of tea you don't have actives.

Anyone running no-mod lids? Do you just let them fully cool down with the lids cracked? I'm a dumbass and tightened my lids after they came out of the PC and they vacuumed shut lol 🤦. I opened them in front of the flow hood so hopefully they didn't suck in any contams.

Flip the lid upside down so that it doesn't seal to the jar.

Yes they need to cool down cracked or else the plastic shrinks more than the glass on cooling. Makes em tough to open for sure.

Oh. My bad. I've never had plastic lids seal on me.

Good too know. Guess I got a bit paranoid letting them cool down like that.

Quoted from another thread, and i know we haven't seen Boogie in a long time (6 months!). I was thinking about growing exactly how Boogie shows, cut open the bags, toss some coir on top, plop them in a tub, and let them run. Any cons to this? Obviously a little spawn inefficient but using the bags as liners sure makes for easier harvest+cleanup. Also why is it so damn hard to search for top fruiting bags in monos?! I mean, i actually know why, too many keywords, not specific enough terms but still!

Had a lovely pinset yesterday, today woke up to that white-that-goes-green. I'm so fucking pissed. I've lost 4 boxes straight now, usually after they start pinning they get the green. I suck at this. I've hardly got anything waiting in the wings either. Very disappointing.

I get so mad when contams show up that late.
Like if I lose a jar a few days in or a tub that’s still colonizing then whatever, but a months worth of time and then teasing you with a good pinset before going green is too much.

Do you have pictures of your spawn?
Also if you need fruits and there's only 1 splotch of green, you can cut a pop bottle top/bottom and sort of screw it over the mold. It'll keep the mold spores trapped under and help get you through to harvest. Not recommended, but I've done it a handful of times. Just keep it out of your grow area if possible.

This was the spawn

Looked alright to me. But I lost the whole series of G2G so it must have been bad.
I put some salt on it. We'll see. I mean I want fruits, sure, but what I really want is to have some consistency in my grow game

That spawn looks suspect to me, I don’t like seeing condensation in grain spawn. Condensation inside a jar is caused by some serious heat being produced and usually things producing a lot of excess heat are not good for our grow. Not a vigorous looking colony either, I personally would not have spawned a jar that looked like that.

That's probably why then. I guess my eye for clean spawn is not good. Thanks for the comments everyone. Back to square one.

Condensation has nearly always equaled bacterial to me.

I guess I thought it was due to temperature since we swing from 10-20C most days.

Spawn doesn't look great to me. Perhaps record yourself inoculating? There's a vid of me doing G2G in my sig. Maybe take a look and see how yours compares?
And I'd definitely recommend covering the mold splotch entirely over fucking with it by salting and leaving it exposed to air.
I've used old petri dishes, PP5 containers, halved soda bottles, etc. If you're near harvest, just wedge that thing on top so you don't spread spores fucking with the tub. The sub is nearly always toast anyway so the main concern is avoiding trich fragments and mold spores flying around, IMO.

Could this be the result of low temps in the room? Pretty much every jar I have has interior condensation, I chalked it up to internal/external temperature differential. Mycelium biomass is generating heat that causes condensation on the glass. My night time lows are 65.8f, it's currently sitting at 67.5. I need to get a radiant oil heater for in here : (
My jars come out of the PC with condensation and it never clears up.

Edit*
Running straight jars u til my bags show up in the mail...I currently have 40 jars colonizing on my shelf. All of them without exception have condensation, even the ones that just came out of the PC last night. There's no way that bacteria could have colonized the jars significantly enough to create excess heat/condensation. At least in my case I'm calling it temperature differential and certainly not contamination.

There's good condensation and bad condensation
