2 days after spawning to unmodified tub. Should the walls/lid be foggy with condensation?

Yeah... or as close to it as you can... I think I technically started early last year... I had swabbed plates on the 28th so I took some tiny t1s on 01Jan as my "start"... it was a great learning experience... I had a few grows under my belt but it was my first real go-round with agar work... its also cool to see who's gonna get the first pins and all that too.

Won't know until you get them.
All oats are ok, some oats are more okay than others. Knowing what I know now about oats I'd sooner recommend any other grain. Oats work though and up until the last batch I picked up they were fine. Worst case you get feed oats that will do ok, best case you get oats that were jussssst a stitch below what would have been acceptable to go to a flour mill.
Short answer is yes.

Well if you guys don’t like oats..., I don’t like them either then. I guess I will stick with WBS. Was just wanting to mix it up but maybe the WBS is a great media.

I've been wanting to try a different grain lately. I've been using oats and they have been working great up until recently. Been getting a little more contam than usual with no difference in practices. Clean cultures of course.
Do you prep wheat and WBS the same as oats? I just put water on a boil, throw grain in for 20 mins, strain and let it sit in the fridge for about 12 hours.

WBS is tight.
Easy prep, insane amount of inoculation points v.s. oats and people seem to have great results with it and consistent success with prep. Oats unlike a lot of grains used here comes in two classes and that's where I think the issue of people having problems vs people not having problems with it comes from. You got feed oats and you got milling oats, they are different in their composition and qualities. All oats can be feed but not all oats can be milling quality so one does not usually know what they are going to get. Oats worked great for me like I said, until they didn't. The same prep no longer worked on oats I got from the same supplier and after talking to the farmer who grew the oats I learned why.
Wheat is another one people have great success with from what I have seen. Very easy prep as well. You'll have to look it up but I think it's either a 20 min boil or simmer and then done.
WBS though, WBS is the tits to me. Using Fooman prep it couldn't be easier. Boiling pot of water, dump my WBS in, take it off the heat and go do something else. I come back in an hour, dump it out, rinse it, jar it and sterilize it. No need to soak. I started doing the soak then 5 minute simmer shit at first but I found Foomans way here gets me less burst grains and better plumper grains.
My only gripe is my current supply of WBS has peanuts and some beans. I try to pick all of those out best I can.
There's nothing wrong with oats in general I just prefer milo/millet/wheat combos because nothing should ever change about it.

Wbs is the shit for g2g too.
I just dropped a few pasta sauce jars of seeds into the pc, do you guys that use these wrap the side of the lid with micropore or Saran Wrap?? What makes me nervous is they don’t have a lock point, they’ll tighten up for a second but then pop past it and go around again. I just tried to keep it on the tightest point and put the foil on.

How are ya'lls experience with PEU? A buddy sent me some LC to expand and the quarts I made are nearing completion to start inoculating with.
Slow as PE? Blobs without casing? Potency right there with PE? Yields shit normally?

I'll have to get a bag of WBS and wheat and give them a shot. I'm not sure why my oats lately haven't been doing it for me, same bag I been using. I hope my SAB room doesn't have any nasties floating around, I haven't had any green tubs however it has been very wet and probably a little moldy outside near me.
And that WBS prep does sound ez peezy, definitely shorter than waiting overnight for oats to dry a little.
Oh and also, I just goofed up making some agar
I made all of this:
After I was done I was thinking to myself, wow, that's alot more agar than I thought I was making. Then realized that instead of putting 800ml of water with 16g agar and 16g LME that I had doubled the water and put 1600ml total.
Do you think the agar will still be viable? I went ahead and tossed it in the PC anyways just to see what happens with it but I think since it is half diluted it won't have much solid growth.
FOOK.

They’ll prob be perfect for li. I made a bunch right on the edge of being soup and they’re great for dropping wedges and then shaking real hard so they liquify.
It was kind of a bitch getting the wedges though cuz they rip under their own weight when it’s that soft.
