Does it mean it is ok, but not necessary?
Born here, english speaking American, no idea what that means either.
I simply have no idea what the kids are saying, am I old yet?

Sorry for being too hip dawg.jj
I feel like when you clone a clone your just narrowing genetics.

Any particular reason we don't use say half gallon mason jars for WBS or Oats? They make those right?
Seems like being able to shake them would stop any possible stalling or anything. Don't bags hold way more than a quart?

Jars / bags with a bigger volume need to be sterilized longer. The problem is if your bag or big jar goes bad you loose a lot of spawn. If a quart jar gets contaminated it's just a quart of spawn.

On a more serious note cloning a clone will cause senescence. The culture will perform so many cell divisions it'll get old and die, just like every one of us. To avoid this we keep cultures we want around for awhile on a slant and take a small piece every time we want to grow it out again.

Clone a clone, tests it and stfu unless it doesnt produce then u can bleet....... In the mean time keep back ups of your genetics from previous plates........

Just took a small bit of the red off these lids. Maybe they'll be a little easier to open now. I also marked on the other side where the red is gone, and will attempt to pop them open from that spot.

Sorry guys, don't hate me now, but I am confused now
Some say clone that pin, some say cloning a pin on a clone plate is like watering your face in the pool

So better not to clone the pin, right?

senescence happens after tons of cloning of a clone ive done it multiple times from plates that went bad and my cultures are fine

Serious note indeed
Hey AL Clone that clone if you want to man. It's not going to hurt anything. There's just no real benifit from doing so is all it's "whatever"

Personally I wouldn't clone clones unless I lost the master culture. If the clone is one you don't give a fuck about okay but if it's one you care about then take care of the master and go back to it.

I think you would be better off trying to isolate the strains in your clone than cloning again

senescence is something most cultivators will never even run into
if you take a clone and the plate ends up making a pin it's no different than it would be if you took a wedge. just take a big wedge pin and all
Quote:

what's the difference. taking a clone from that pin that grew on the clone plate is the same thing as taking a wedge. it may narrow down the genetics it may not.

Good point. And on second thought isolating probably wouldnt be much different from the clone except it would need more transfers
