That's the thing. I don't think I have to mist at all I just fucking can't remember why I'm doing it everyday anymore. I felt some subs today and they're heavy as shit so I've obviously saturated them horribly.

Same with not covering exposed grains with coir when doing a spawn run. I stopped doing it and couldn't remember why until I went back in my notes and saw that bodhisatta says he doesn't do it so it's not worth doing. Previous to that I had RR stating that it's imperative to cover exposed grains as when they dry and mycelium dies back it's a huge mold vector.

Then in my casing notes I have it that coir is a poor performing casing but then I've got you Pasty saying coir/verm is the way to go even showing off PE you did cased with coir/verm. Then people in threads similiar where other TCs claim verm alone is the shittiest casing you can do.. and then bod says.

"just coir just verm or leftover CVG works great.

I usually go with just verm from the bag if I case at all"

I feel like I hit a point this year where it was nothing but net getting tubs to the 3rd or 4th flush and then for some stupid fucking reason I kept reading and changed things, then read and changed them again. Then I'm scratching my head wondering why I do things a certain way now but didn't before.

If I've got bags starting to form small pins is it worth it to case them now? Some have exposed grains.
Edit: RR says don't late case because it's going to protect and germinate spores that have landed on shit.

Arghbargle.

See I turned up and on my fan with your tubs. It actually made my fruits grow thick af and the small aborts/pins came back misted 4 times a day for sat and sun now my tubs looks crazy good gonna have the numbers tonight. I seen a jump in growth and my small pins came back while before it was not sprouting.

Good news though, I've figured out I can let old sub dry out in a backyard bin and I can heat my old shed by burning it in the woodstove.
Burns for a long fucking time if I've got coals from wood in there.

I guess coir and myc has bad combustion properties but the grain sure as fuck don't. Suppose that's why grain stoves exist. Works pretty good together.

Do you mean dial in the tubs more or do you humidify the room or something?

Lol I cranked the fan up and started misting 4 times a day just to get the flush to come in full. Other then that no fan no spray nothing. Worked pritty good for a set and forget. But I also live in a area where 70% RH year avarage my RH swings from 17% up to 80% so that's a pritty big difference. Pasty lives in 10% so that should tell you it don't really matter where you live it's just how much your room gets airflow. A fan or cracked window will dry them out so fast. J.s.

I've been using Pasty EZ dialed with a small circulation fan in the room and as long as I get the coir/verm to field capacity I don't have to touch the thing for the first flush or two besides harvest.

Along with using Eat's stream-liner it works like a charm. I noticed the water that falls behind the liner will start evaporating to the lid, condensates and falls back onto the sub preventing any drying out and keeps the micro drops on the surface.

Granted that is with 66qt monotub.

I mostly only need to mist on my 20qt tubs because I tried to make the same EZ dial on them and it seems they can dry out easier since it's a small tub with nearly the same holes. Still not more than once a day after first flush.

First flush YETI.
Certainly not impressive at 177g wet but apparently that's typical of this variety.

I'll have to wait I see I suppose.

P.S. pain in the ass to harvest!

For real I can actually show the tubs that didn't get misted and fan cranked to max v.s. the ones that did.... I have two separate rooms one had the fan on and sprayed 4x a day while the other sat untouched. I actually prep my sub very wet. 4.5qt water to 650g coir 2qt-3qt verm. 1/4cup gyp. The difference was amazing because I only did it for 2 1/2 days. And 7 tubs are ready to be picked while the other 5 are not.

Does anyone not use the lid for the SAB and instead use the table it is on ? I was thinking I could just sanitize the table and use just the top of the SAB to  pour plates. The lid is just so warped that it is hard to get a flat surface .
