Hey guys! Can you help me out iv never had this before in my years of growing! Check this fuzzy orange stuff out! it is a weird growth never hard it before and wonder what it is!

I cloned a maitake a little while ago. While the fruit was sitting in the trash it got this dense orange mold all over it. It started out kinda light like this but then it thickened up into a creamsicle orange color. No idea what it was but I’ve never seen anything like it

That's what's happening. Weird

Try the sponsors vendors.
My package just arrived from Spore Works and I'm very happy.

4 of my 8 TOC transfers look nice and uniform. The other 4 look okay but not as neat and organized. Should I make more transfers from these 4 or do they look clean enough that I can let them grow and fill out the plate a bit more and then use them to incoculate grain master jars?

Their lack of uniformity seems to be a function of the shape of the wedge rather than any contamination. I'd say that you're probably fine.

The plates that lack uniformity that I was speaking of aren't actually pictured in my post.

Yeetusdeetus, I used the 2:3 grain water to water ratio that munch uses in his tek.

Have you tried gluckspilze.com

They are a sponsor, pretty sure they are sending stuff internationally and pretty sure they take a credit card also

I have had only one dealing with them but it was a decent size order and I have no bad words to say about them as a result. They are based in Austria but international is international anyway

Ah okay, well the plates you showed us look fine imo but I never had much luck with gwa. It’d never be bright white like I wanted, it’d either be completely clear or slightly off white like this. These look fine to me but I’d wait for someone else’s opinion first lol

Thank you. I have tried a few different things up to this point and haven't been satisfied with any of them, tbh. I just ordered some MEA today. So hopefully that will work better for me.

The plates I didn't post pics of are thicker in some spots and thinner in others. I will definitely be doing another transfer on those.

Did you use food coloring? If so looks good to me but you won't know until you either use it or put it on agar to check it.
