Polyfil alone should work, but the pantyhose just give an extra layer for em to get through and might provide a better seal How to dial in your monotubs like a boss

Coffee filters have some bad air permeability. At least my shitty ones do anyways. I got some cheesecloth around here so I'll poly-fil and cheesecloth.
Better safe than sorry right? Thanks friends

Evening folks,
What's the best way to monitor temps when pasturising in jars using a pc? IR guns only get a surface reading, don't they?
I mean i could jam a probe fhrough the polyfill lids but I feel like there might be a better way

I think most people just use probes with foil on top and no lids

Has anyone had any luck growing panellus stipticus using pf tek? I was thinking of replacing the verm with sawdust. My gf and I want to do a basic mycology lesson for her kids (homeschooling), I would do oysters but bioluminescent mushrooms would be more likely to get them interested.

I just pre put them if I start seeing gnats I mean let's say I spawn new tubs but my old tubs have gnats I put panty hose over my new tubs. It works very well but if there already in there then it is to late.

Would you guys say I should replace the control valve on this AA 25x? Starts gurgling and spitting steam around 17psi, in the video it's at 20psi. Getting ready to order a new one and replace the over pressure plug but wanted to be sure.

Nah I haven't taken it apart yet. Purchased it used a few months back and only fired it up a few times. I thought it was normal but after doing some reading it appears it should be staying silent until it gets higher.

For real mine don't make a peep even at 23 PSI It has to get towards 25 plus to do that.

Use peanut butter and shock traps!! Works like a charm! Or you can try the balancing game trick! I've done that a few times just a 5-gallon bucket and a ruler. Balance the peanut butter at the end of the ruler mice climbs up it and tries getting to the peanut butter mice falls in bucket. I can't crawl out because it's too slippery!

Just avoid warfarin traps because the little motherfuckers will eat it and then go die in a wall, under the stove or somewhere else to rot and stink.
