Yes a glitch in the matrix... So my new bottle had the pour ring fall off. There's lots of rings out there for sale, but I'm not interested in a lifetime supply.

Yeah they’re cheap but you gotta buy a million at a time. I kinda like it that way though tbh I’d rather just buy a bag once and never have to again

Hey friends... I could use some knowledge here !
I received a swab for another member here, that says it is APE
When I grew it, this is what I got
Is it APE ? If not, what would it be ??

I think it’s just some PE weirdness, you said it took about three weeks to pin right? That’s right in the PE window for sure.

There’s a whole thread somewhere about weird stuff people grew from ape spores.

Another day, another tub lost to aspergillus. I've eliminated everything to this point except my coir. I switched to warm soak instead of boiling and ever since then my troubles have arrived because a few people on Shroomery said it doesn't matter.
Aspergillus flavus is a common mold of coconut and was reading about spore load in places they process the pith (the coir). How aspergillus flavus is a common contamination of stored corn and importantly copra, the meat of a coconut.
Gone back to boiling water in my coolers. Should have stuck with what worked.

Veils are beginning to tear on my first tub. Long stems and fuzzy feet are suggesting more FAE. Isn't it a little early for these to be opening up? The tub was spawned 12 days ago. What can I do to improve the outcome of the rest of the tubs?

Well more air is always better if you can swing it but that looks like it has a lot to do with genetics. They don’t seem choked at all.

I spend a lot of my free time on this site reading current and old posts. Lol Im currently trying to isolate good p.caerulescens mycelium from 3+ year old wild print full of contams, it has been entertaining.

Josex said: The shitter is your best thinking cap. Here's a theory. APE fruits produce the occasional non-albino spores. There is way more albino spores on the gills than rogue ones. These non-albino spores are far less stubborn to germinate than the albino ones, so even though there are far less rogue spores on the swab there's a really good chance they'll take over the plate way before the albino spores can germinate.
But then, why spore solution always produce actual APE fruits? I think that might have something to do with the way the syringes are made and that centrifuge thingy. My guess is that albino spores are heavier and will precipitate, excluding the rogue ones along with mold spores and shit.

Now some shit I grew that came from APE swabs:

Can't remember who gifted me this swab, sorry.

Celestialexplorer1 said: Can someone please enlighten me. If most caps of ape and PE don’t print and most don’t I’ve tried, them how in the hell do they make these syringes. This is ape BTW
They desiccate dry the fruits in as clean of conditions as possible. Then the caps are crushed and gill fragments collected. They are then put into solution, where the large chunks are filtered out. Then the solution is spun in a centrifuge to separate the heavy cubes spores from the lighter mold spores and bacteria rods. This forms a pellet that can be separated.

APE swabs are lots of fun.

Do fungus gnats really cause contamination of coir by causing mold? Just reading here some TCs saying that but I'm wondering if it's still legit. I did have a fungus gnat problem.
