Oh my fucking god am I dumb as dogshit.
Trying to find my silicone to fill the molds around the screws to make stir bars. Digging in my toolbox in the high heat fixatives drawer. I can't find it and I keep moving a spool of something around not realizing.
Teflon tape. Motherfuck. Can handle high temperature coolant and oil way beyond a PC. Just wrap it around the screw and in a few layers done.
Stupid dogshit brain. Anyway teflon tape + screw = 10 cent find and dandy stir bar.

You could skip endless refilling of syringes by using a peristaltic pump. Will cost you a few hundred up front for a used one.

I’m guessing they want to coat the screw so it doesn’t rust

I've always preferred broken glass to anything. Long thin pieces (two per jar) shred the fuck out of LC. I can break a massive blob down pretty quickly that way and I've tried several different objects... Additionally, the pieces stay put well against a tapered jar neck when inverting fully during the final pour.

Wonder if just a piece of ferrous metal rod coated in silicone will work in a pinch.
Looking for a Quick fix I think

Yeah sorry, bouncing off the walls and all over the place in this thread I apologize. On days when I have energy and I'm not a living PE blob I try to get as much done as possible.

Quick question. I’m about to case 2 trays of pan cambo and pan bisporus. I wanted to know if it’s ok to use miracle grow seed starter. It’s primarily made up of peat moss and perlite with tiny amount of fertilizer. The bag is about 4months old so I’m thinking it’s good to go. I was gona mix it with course verm, gypsum as a buffer and try my best to get the ph to 7.5-8 using hort lime. Where I live all the spag peat moss has some fertilizer in it anyways so I’m thinking this would be a good alternative.
Any suggestions.

Id like to make a report.
Cube mycelium will not grow on my cumin seeds.
The presence of 20-30% cumin seeds in a grain mix I made, completely inhibited all mycelium growth.
Tested 7 different jars, no growth in ~10 days.
First I thought the jars were too dry, but when I opened one to check, I found it had okay moisture.
Strongly anti fungal - cumin seed oil?

Seeds laden with oils and fats are not going to be desirable in most instances at any rate. It’s why we stick with cereal grains for the most part.

A quick google search shows cumin essential oil has been studied for its anti fungal properties.

yeah thats probably why flax seeds, cumin seeds, and some other shit ive tried, usually ended up totally fail
the only "new" grain ive actually discovered is coriander seeds w/ hulls,
the cube mycelium shows happy and convincing growth on coriander seeds but, it seems slower than my corn.
coriander seeds are pretty small, so they got that going for them over corn
mainly interested in seen what grains work and what differences they show

I've been using "Alpiste" which google translate tells me is canary grass mixed with white or red millet with some good success. I might try a jar with only alpiste next to see how it goes.

Quick one for pastyplate users, I made some because I ran out of normal sterile disposables. I can't find the information in the pastyplate thread about how to store them after putting a sample on them. Just unused storage which is to put them in the fridge still wrapped.
Thanks mush.

Make an agar slant and put it on that or knock up grains and then put them in cold storage. I believe RR said knocked up grains will store for a seriously long long time.
