Asshole dog got in the basement chasing a mouse and wedged himself behind the big wire shelving unit I use to hold my colonizing jars, panicked like a fucking asshole and he tore the tip strap out of the wall and just fucked me on nearly a months worth of work.
Fucked all my colonizing g2g masters of which some were the only genetics of those particulars I had. Mailed out my spore prints I took from my Brazilian weirdos and the LC is gone. I'll never see those fuckers again.
Shoveled everything into two garbage cans, going to dump coir on it and cover them in recycling bags. I'll take clones off what grows like that can of paint I colonized and start over, again.
I must have been a truly awful person in a past life.

Fair enough. I absolutely love brine and ferments of all sort. I'm just imagining, even if brined with some potent herbs and spices and other vegetables, that cube taste would still get through. It's that mix of flavors I could see getting pretty offensive. I do love beer while tripping and I guess that's not too far off, so I really shouldn't knock it till I try it.

I lose all taste for beer when tripping. Beer is my go-to for alcohol but when tripping my body is like "We want Pina Coladas fat boy" also crave Pepsi too and I find sugary soda disgusting when I'm straight.

Underneath all the busted grain and subs for extra nutes.

Hope he didn’t slice his paws up though, my dogs would’ve immediately started eating the grain.

Can't do anything about the dog it's the womans, it came with the deal. Guaranteed she'd rather get rid of my old busted ass before the dog. I might be the odd man out but I loathe indoor pets. Nothing but problems.
Give me a big fat retarded dog to drink beer with on the porch anyday of the week but keep them outside where they can shed all they like. Cleaning furnace vents and finding birds nest of dog hair in peoples homes and it's like.. you breathe this shit?
Maybe it's a sign I don't know. I got a plate of APE on the way and I'm ordering stuff from a sponsor so fuck it, fate and all that.

Do dogs have the receptor to trip balls? I wonder. No thankfully the dogs fine otherwise I'd be getting yelled at to fuck right off with this hobby I guarantee it. She loves trippin balls but hates when I fuck the kitchen right up on grain prep day. I already promised her a new stove since the weight of my gigantic oat boiling pot and the balls blazingly hot coil burner seems to have uh.. tweaked it a bit.

Yeah they for sure trip, one of my chihuahuas sits under my chair while I harvest trying to snap up aborts or pieces of caps that drop. One time she snagged a cluster probably 30g wet and choked it down in a second. Then spent the next 8 hours under her blanket squealing. I figured that would be the last time but even this morning she managed to snap up a couple aborts. It’s from a new clone which I suspect is potent based on her reaction from a microdose.
I gotta learn how to post videos. I’ve got one where she’s on her hind feet gnawing on my knuckle staring off into space making weird noises for like three minutes straight before racing out of the room.
lol just imagine a while of this while she sounds like she’s trying to talk.

Just for the record I’m not advocating letting pets eat shrooms. I freaked out the first time she got some until I talked to a vet who said it’s fine just try to keep them calm until it wears off.

I am thinking that the PE and GT may have been switched somewhere along the line. These were both spawned to pasty ez dialed in tubs 13 days ago.
In what should be the PE tubs, things are moving pretty fast.

Meanwhile, in what should be the GT:

Still waiting for phenotype to confirm which is which. Neither is blobbing so far.
One questions: Does the brown-ish stipes in the first two tubs indicate that the sub is too dry or too much or not enough air exchange?
Thanks

Normally I can keep gnats in check with ACV+soap in a bowl of water but they're outpacing me now. Anyone have experience with adding BTI to coir? It seems like a bad idea to me but if it works it works.
Any luck with diatomaceous earth dusted on the substrate surface? I'll keep plugging away with ACV bowls and look into gnat strips. Little fuckers man I tell you it's always something. Drains are spotless and can't see a gnat near them. No houseplants.

Do you guys think spawn would survive the winter under the frost line? How much headroom should I give em so they don't suffocate?

I have been adding a few drops of peppermint oil to a misting bottle with a drop of dish soap. I use this for misting when the conditions call for it and just on the walls and outside of my tubs for gnats. They have completely gone away now. Correlation is not causation, but it is easy enough to give it a try and has not given me any problems. Plus it smells nice.

I don't like using coir myself, as I have mentioned several times, it contains plant phenols (lignin, so on). Plant phenols support germination of lignicolous fungi. The bonus is the lack of starch and common sugars, which means you should only ever see lignicolous organisms (notably fungi).
Ideally, to take it even further, you should replace the coir with a substrate that is just cellulose, no phenols.
----
There is also a difference between added contamination (live or not), and contamination from the air.
----
Carbon source: [Common Sugars], germinates and grows almost anything, almost everything can utilize it as carbon. Carbon source: [Common Starch], germinates and grows almost anything, almost everything can utilize it as carbon. Carbon source: [Plant Phenols], germinates and grows lignicolous organisms, which can utilize it as carbon.
Carbon source: [Cellulose], when complex it doesn't support germination, most fungi utilize it as carbon.
----
This is why I don't like adding wheat bran to wood (adds starch), you also need to spend more money on being aseptic. I like to keep the complex cellulose, add nutrients, but no carbon sources, and use starch spawn.
