Yeah I'm just trying not to waste any. We aren't allowed to go to the shops in my city at the moment to buy anything besides food. All retail is closed. Due to covid.
I need to poor boiling water on it and leave for 1 hour before spawning in my sealed bucket.
I thought it would be common knowledge. I'll just have to waste some, all goods
Here is your answer I get about 7-8 qts out of a 650g block so divide that block into sections of 7 cut 1 section... There ya go if your a little over a qt it's fine not gonna really hurt anything. This stuff is simple don't over think it I mean spawn rates are 1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 iv heard for people going as high as 1-6. So yeah is the saying goes "just do it!"
You thought it would be common knowlage. if you would use the the search function you would see teks that explain alot.

Can anyone give me some tips for a2g sterile tek? I'm doing it for the first time tomorrow and I'm super nervous. My plan right now is just 1. pop the rings off in the SAB 2. open my pasty plate and keep it upside down with the lid loose 3. flame + cut a wedge without hovering my hand over the plate 4. slightly lift the jar lid by grabbing the polyfil 5. drop the wedge by sliding the scalpel against the inner rim 6 rinse repeat.
Looking for any advice, I would really hate to get contams here

Cheers bro
Easy pesy
That's 92 grams of coir per quart jar, so only need that for my 1:1 brf to bulk and won't waste a gram

Here's some notes I made: 1) 400g Coir x 2 mL/g= 800 mL hot water 140-160 F. 2) Boil a pot of water and put into a cooler for 10 min to pre-heat the cooler 3) Heat 1211.6+ mL 4) Dump out the hot cooler water 5) Add the coir to the cooler, then pour the measured hot water over it. no hot water on the coir (170 for 2 hours, oven TEK https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20822448#20822448) 6) Close lid, wait 60 min 7) After an hour stir up the coir to try make sure you don't get dry spots. Ok some dry clumps, not too dry~. 8) Wait until cool enough to put in jars. (3 hrs) TedsDead said: Well, the thermal death temp for cubes is 104F... i usually wait until the coir is 85F

Months after prepping it the first time, I used some coir that had just been sitting in a bucket with the lid off for that whole time. Worked fine when I went to rehydrate it and use it.

i've done it a lot and only once seen mold start growing while it sat. But that coir sat nice and moist in stagnant conditions for a real long while. Don't remember exactly but i think it was around a month.

like 50% of the time my coir will grow pin mold if it sits longer than a week or so. I always have to inspect old coir before using it.

Thats why I always make sure it dries completely.
Your mileage may vary based on environment

I remember that topic coming up a few months ago. Someone needs to try it. I think the pickle juice would be more active than the fruits and would probably break down fairly quickly. Shots of psychedelic pickle juice sounds fun though.

I left hydrated coir in a sealed HD bucket, went shitty in a hurry. I left hydrated coir in a cooler with the lid open, top dried out and no problems.
It do be like that.

I'm also surprised this isn't more commonly known, the responses you have received are not what i would have expected from us. At any rate, i do have a formula for a per quart basis. Multiply this formula by however many quarts of substrate you need. I never used gypsum in my substrate so i can't recommend there. I use plantonix coir which i feel expands a little more than others.
50 g coir 1/2 cup verm 200 mL water

Hey y'all, I'm not completely sure if this is the right thread but it seemed like a waste to make a new one, since similar questions have probably been asked before.
First time grower here, so I'm most likely over worrying, but I got some questions.
https://i.imgur.com/HevatjS.jpg
I think the jars look good, doesn't seem to be any contams, nothing black or green, no water pooling in the bottom etc. Inoculated with MSS on 19/9, took about 2 weeks to show mycelial growth. 1st jar from the left was shaken four days ago, and nr 2, 3, and 4 six days ago. Number 4 seems almost completely colonized and nr 3 not far behind. Should I just leave them be and wait for the other two to catch up?

What's your plan with the jars? If your mycelium recovers after a shake and continues on to full colonization then your gains are probably clean.

Sorry, should've included that, I'll be spawning to bulk in a mono. I've read some people saying to put them in the fridge but it's not like I'll be waiting for weeks, will spawn as soon as the slowest one is ready.

Yeah I would personally just wait it out. Doesn't look like it'll be too much longer. Good luck with the mono

Looking up the solubility of psilocybin in vinegar just comes up with a bunch of extraction methods. So thats my guess as well.
I bet it'll make it easier for the light to break em down. I'd store em in dark jars

Me. I love pickling brine. Pickled jalapeno brine is the best. Might try throwing a few cubes in my next empty jars of sliced jalapenos.
