The marakesh looks kinda like a morel to me but its listed under the cubes (as was the Paraguay)... just wondering if anyone here has any experience with either of these varieties. Thanks!

Here's the Marakesh, taking off nicely... lol

6 more shoeboxes set for lift off! Lost another jar to trich and I'm about 90% sure that another one has stalled. The grain looks really dry which is sort of strange being that it was made at the same time and has been in the same environment as the rest of the jars.

do you have a monotub? shoeboxes usually dry out for me if I let them sit out like that. the lids tend to let in too much FAE during colonization. I stack 4 per mono, them fruit em 2 per mono. this ensures no misting, or having to ask the surface conditions thread for help. set and forget!

Lastly, has anyone stabilized the alien spaceship mutant KSSS as seen in my first signature photo to consistently produce these weird shaped shrooms? It was quite odd back then. Don’t know if common now but would love to see it again.

Whoa, there ya go again! I like it. I've been 100% shoebox and they do
get dry, even here. I'm gonna put them in tubs and see.

Sooo, I noticed you bashed bleech. I thought wiping down with
a cloroxed towel was hot stuff! You got bleach and that kinda
soapy slime that doesn't dry in the SAB before yer sesh.

I mean for particulates (word for the day) floating around, I like
slimy. In a SAB at least, you know for those of us that didn't win
a flowhood!

My ole lady wrapped my jars. I just opened them. I did one and showed her how to do it. She forgot to add the paper towel to the jar. I only have one GE hope but it’s about a hole punch big and only used foil over it. Hope the verm layer isn’t ruined.

Soap in water does the same thing. When you mix dishwashing liquid into water and spray it on the SAB, the soap will actually form a film on the outside of the water as it evaporates, which will drastically decrease the evaporation of the water. Bleach is overkill. It will fuck up any fabrics you accidentally get it on and it is a pretty serious irritant. Isopropyl alcohol for sanitizing, soapy water for sab cleaning.

One way to find out...  I've had luck with really old spore prints but never stored syringes usually just whip some more up when I need em. If it is contaminated you may still be able to clean it on agar

First pins coming up since I lost everything a month or so ago when I landed in the hospital. Felt like it took much longer to get to this point than I remember. It is a weird feeling going from harvesting multiple monotubs per day to just patiently waiting on knots to turn into pins.

Honestly surprised at how long this PE6 is taking to colonize jars to the point where while everything looks clean I'm worried. The Golden Mammoth jars that were done a few days later are passing them now.

I have 70 sterilized jars still to knock up from my run before my gasket failed and I'm leaning towards Golden Mammoth for those instead of PE6 now. The only problem is I don't know what the fudge a Golden Mammoth is beyond what someone called a Golden Teacher once. The LC it started from arrived in a syringe and I've never seen it grown with my own eyes. Information on Shroomery is lacking as well. It's a cube is all I know. Golden Teacher prone to putting out large fruits? Who knows. Flying blind on both the PE6/GM here as I was not the source for the genetics. Normally everything I've ever grown was from clones I took myself from MS.

What size tub are you putting those in? Reading your comment prompted me to check and sure enough, its been just a bit over 24 hours and the sub looks like its drying out already.

Will definitely be doing the pasty mono. Putting together grain jars has made me hate everything about poly and I havent bought any tape yet.

On a side note, does anyone know what happened to Goatrider? He was active AF for a while and just disappeared.

The towel is to keep the tape from sticking to the foil. You might be fine. If you see tape start to peel pull it in the other direction

might be the agar itself... I had something similar happen using tap (well + softener) water. And I have read people getting weird growth from certain agar brands. Try to switch up your recipe. Don't give up!

Looks like a contaminated syringe to me. Hella fuzzy mold growth. I had an AA+ syringe I got from a very reputable vendor that I had to jump ship on. It was the only one I got from them that was bad, but bad it was.

I'd like to see that culture from a different angle in different light. It's hard to tell what's up in that picture. Does look awfully wispy though.
