Does the more transparent ring in the middle mean anything? Is there some contaminant causing this?

If it's for 2 or 3 days I'd consider moving them in there if you are convinced they are gonna mature when you are gone. Maybe if you clean out your fridge of perishables and turn the cool up a little to like the 1 or 2 setting (5 or 6 being the coldest) and just slow the growth a bit, and I've only got one instance but I knew that culture and it did in fact stop the spore drop because of the cold.
Idk though but we all know how the fridge can put a mute button sometimes on a culture. IME it can do the same with a fruiting tub.
i'm just going to leave it. i only have the 1 tray and a shoe box that has pins. my fridge is fucking gross anyway. i need to clean it.
sunday afternoon they might be juuuuuust right. or a purple disaster. i dont care. just as long as its not the mean green. its just annoying that i finally have my first all agar grow and im going to the beach... last time i went to the beach i had shit growing and came home to these...
both pumped out really quick flushes then turned into a green nightmare.

Can agar bruise when you innoc a quart jar with it? Most of my jars looks super healthy, but some of them have some blue spots, mostly on the edges of some agar pieces, and sometimes on the middle of it. Could this have been caused when it came in contact with the scalding hot scalpel when I made the tranfer?

Probably from temp fluctuations. Was it colder or water when started than now?

Are you sure it's bruising-blue? Since for me it looks like the agar is quite thin at this spot and therefore it looks blueish.

It definitely is blue, I'm just not sure if it's bruising or contams.

Acutally I can't say either.
But next time: Try to roll your jar a bit after inoculation (of course after closing the lid) so that the agar wedge is fully covered by grains. Maybe that's your fault, since your myc is in "open air" inside the jar and could dry out easily.

Some others have less or no transparent ring like this one at all. It's the summer season and temperature has been around 65f - 85f in the room over the past few days I'd say.
Only inoculated this a few hours after cooling, so it was pretty jelly by then.

Same thing happened to me when the condensation from the sides of the plate pooled like mad on the surface. The myc eventually mopped it up but the growth looked a lot like yours while it was doing it. Once the plate dried up it grew nice again.

Oooh, I haven't noticed any condensation forming on the agar, but the droplets on the side of the containers never go away.
Maybe I should mention that this is PE. If that makes any difference.

So i have some pan cyan prints I want to start working with. Can I use regular pasty plates to get some growth going via swab, or would they not colonize it?

Posted this in pasty plate thread but will try here too.
I kinda just realized I'm planning to make 5 WBS jars but have no real plates to inoculate with. I have one 5th transfer KSSS plate, and two Texas yellow cap plates, but only one transfer from the spore plate so I probably shouldn't use those.
I have one great looking jar of KSSS out of my last 6, it's recovering from shaken now. Maybe I should use that and try G2G? Never done it before.
Also this from pasty plate thread.
Need to make some plates for masters.
Anyone got a simple recipe for master plates? I'm thinking maybe just a little less agar powder, and a little less nutes, to get rhizomorphic growth and maybe not as stiff agar for easy breaking up in the grains. Cutting, slicing, somewhere im getting contams. I'd like to make 6 masters off a 5th transfer plate, grow those out, and use one plate per jar x6 jars.
Seem feasible?
Thanks

Lookin good Ralph! I can't take credit for that Fiji print tho! Maybe you were thinking of JacobStorm? He hooked me up with some Fiji anywhoozle Gunna be a bitch harvesting those jars Tubs lookin good so far man!
Hey Moabfighter Don't make it more complicated than it has to be man. Just use whatever agar recipe you like to make masters. If you want softer agar then try 1.8 - 2g agar per 1/2 cup water

Yup! It was the AA+ I usually sign the print or bag but that was a fairly large give away and I've been known to be fairly lazy sometimes :lol

I want to grow Azurescens outdoor, and start preparing spawn.
Does anyone have experiences with Cyber-Shrooms?
Is that really 500g of colonized spawn?
My alternative would be: https://www.avalonmagicplants.com/mushrooms/other-growkits/en-magic-mushrooms-innervisions-azurescens-spawn-bag which is 70g of spawn
I have 50 liters of hardwood beech chips and some H2O2. Ideally I'd like to colonize at least 25 liters of wood by March
