Yes Josex those are what we have. We order them from a shop that supplies honeybee keepers. That way we can have a lot of identical jars.
Like Josex said, they are perfect for culting
When we just began culting we used any pasta sauce jar, or mayo or jelly jars

Oh shit I found a pack of twelve for like 16. I really want some but if I got em I’d feel like I just wasted money on my wide mouth jars . Hopefully by the time all my jars bust I’ll have a flowhood and a roll of bags

I need to get moving with some. Starting to build up a repertoire of cultures I would love to store long-term
If you wanna get real fancy with it you can use one of those racks designed specifically for slants.

Is that a poly/micropore kind of combo?
Poly by itself is some really hot shit, you just have to do it nice and tight. I used to change the poly whenever I prepped a new batch of grain until I realized it was a dumb thing to do because you can actually reuse it many times. I've got some lids with poly that hasn't been changed in more than a year.

Weirdest thing I have ever seen today.
I bagged up all the contaminated subs from the basement problem. About twenty garbage bags with three subs each. When I put the subs in the bag lots of them had mushrooms all over them infected with trich, lots of bottom mushrooms as well.
The bags sat for about a week and half. When to the country to dump them in the bush by emptying the bags. No fruits, no mycelium on them. It all disappeared. Like the only thing in the bags was coir and oats. Couldn't see myc, fruits were gone.

You must have gnomes in your basement, it's pretty normal. Dem fuckers love shrooms and don't mind the trich much.

Millet is the gold standard of grain. Costs more but no boil no strain no BULLSHIT. Load jars with right amount of millet and water = done.

My millet recipe looks like it is working for WBS.
If I can recreate the success with other more WBS I am going to write a tek.

That adds a lot of confidence to my hypothesis! If I can demonstrate similar results I hope it will align with your experience.
Edit: You probably already have the tek in your back pocket if you want to write it first

I use Miller this whole past year. My favorite is soft wheat berries and millet mix. I don’t know but it seems to work better than just millet or just wheat. 50/50 it’s the way to go

Yep that was my plan. I saw the guy from southwest mushrooms do his just like that. I love repeatable results through weighing out a prescribed recipe rather than having to trust myself to gauge the prep everytime. All after having to do so many extra steps in comparison. All the soaking, the simmering, the straining, the fanning, going to lengths unknown to dry things out to just the right moisture content for large grain bags... Bags and bag moisture made easy I'm hoping. 🤞

This 50# bag of millet was $13, the WBS I can get is $16 for 40# for me here
No prep bulk, a superior grain, and a good price? Nice. 🤘

I've heard that works great, but the pure millet is where I'll start and see how this straight "no-prep" treats me 🤘
Good looking out boys!

I did no prep for awhile but started having issues so now I do a hot soak for one day then load up and cook. Been treating me a lot better. Sometimes you just gotta let those endospores germinate first that’s what I always say.

I’ve been saying for years I was going to do the writeup for my flash prep millet/WBS. But if yours is good go for it, I’ve definitely been lazy on this one.

Yeah, the Southwest mushroom guy did the no prep, but also ran his grain bags in the PC for four whopping hours. With the sheer amount of mush he grows I figure he's either got something figured out in the endospore department, and with the core temp of the mass and density of the millet bags loaded into the PC to be running that length of a cycle, or he's just playing it safe. Either way I am gonna try to ride those coat tails to a more streamlined process. I can start there at four hours and once I have consistent results like he does, I can gradually work my way down until I run into contamination issues again. I'd like to not waste extra electricity on that long of a cycle unless I absolutely have too, but who knows maybe 4 hours is the zone for this particular grain and prep style

I think 3 - 4 hours is pretty standard when its a 941 /75x full of bags.
Or at least among the people ive talked to about it
Idk about no prep tho, ive never used that
