Newer grower here. How big of a deal is fuzzy feet? Not in terms of edibility but in terms of affect of a pinset and potency/health of the mushroom?

I'm happy to finally have knots and pins, but noticed knots on the side of my tubs as well. Does this mean I'm going to have side pins soon?

Rick, the little pins and aborts that hang out and stay real small during a first flush (or any flush) should be considered part of that flush and harvested with all the big mushrooms. They won’t mature into normal sized mushrooms, they just thin out a little bit and try to open their caps.
The next flush pins will pop up later.
This is what I see growing with normal subs, I don’t know if cubes would act differently on a cake.
Also you have those 1/4 pint cakes which could be a reason your mushrooms are pretty small. Sub size does equate to average mush size (to a point) in my experience.

On Saturday I was able to buy isopropyl and nitrile gloves at Walmart for regular prices; $7.99 for a hundred gloves. It is nice to not have to order this stuff at 400% markup.

Can someone help point me in the right direction. I gave the search box a go for quite a while And can’t find updated information. I’m doing a pan grow. Bisporus and cambo. I want to use hpoo and straw for a sub with cvg. But I’m having trouble finding out if I should pasteurize straw sep from the hpoo. I never used wheat straw before but I’ve noticed it in my dried aged manure. I’m gona use 50%hpoo 30%straw 20%cvg for my sub. Can I just pasteurize them all together is my question. Thanks

Do I have to soak the straw first as per RR NOTES. I see people saying to soak in water with dish soap is what I mean. Or do I mix and get to FC then pasteurize.

Thanks Roger.
Turns out I harvested just about 2.9-3g total, so I'm pretty happy. My trip goal is to take 3g, however I'm wondering, this is 3g of many, many small mushrooms. Will this likely be more potent than a typical 3g, and if so, how much? I don't want to take 3g and get a 4-5g trip for instance.
Thanks

You'll be fine. Potency is separate from size

Hoping someone can help me w this. Finally picked up some 1/2 pint jars and currently steam sterilizing some BRF cakes.
Anyways, question is I have 2 strains (Golden Teacher & PF Classic) I want to inoculate with, yet only one needle.
How can I ensure that say, after injecting some GT, I inject PF when I change the needle? Like 100% sure I didn't just inject more GT spores even though the syringe was switched?
Or is it best to just do one strain in this scenario? Kinda wish I had 2 needles but too late. Any advice?

Right, I just don't want to use the same needle and inject a different strain than I'm thinking, ya know? Actually, I'm curious what happens if say GT spores and PF classic spores make it in the same cake, would only one strain colonize or could both? What the hell would happen, a hybrid strain?
Anyways, only thing is I want to test different strains myself and don't want to consume GT when I think I'm taking PF classic, you know? Just for my own purposes. Different genetics = slightly different effects maybe?

Different "strains" of the same "variety"(gt) will yeild different potencies(effects)
Hybrids can happen but not likely in a cake where you have 4 seperate inoculation points and the syringe contents wont likely mix. Unless 2 monokariotic strains haplened to form and grow out enough to meet and were compatable
