Hey e...The jars are 90MM lids and filters 1.9 liter. I guess the diameter is about 100MM?

2 questions
im making oats and also spawning tubs.
could i use the water i use to soak the spawn, to boil the oats? then use that water to sterilize my v/c/g?!
not sure, im sure the sterilization would probs destroy some goodness, but would that help get more valuable nutes to the end source?
thanks and regards
did a lot of work today. more agar, g2g transfer of 1 ecuador jar to 8. making 10 jars of spawn (first time with oats) and also spawning 2 monos. -long rewarding day

id say youre all set man. id soak your grains before, and you should be set.
im sure a more basified sub is better than an acidic one.

When storing cultures/masters/cakes/LC/LI in a fridge longterm is there any need for you to occasionally open the door to exchange the air to let them breathe or to allow proper ge or something.
I for some reason thought that air was constantly pushed into a fridge at a slow rate from outside which would allow them to breathe. Come to find out that fridges are sealed...
Is there enough air/oxygen/etc already in the fridge to maintain them or do they not need any air exchange at all even over a year at a time in the fridge ?
If my fridge didn't have power for a few days to a week with the door shut would them being at room temp without air echanging in the fridge be a very bad thing?

No bud they don't need ae or ge leave them be and when your ready to use the shit plop em out and they'll probably last longer if kept refrigerated rather then kept at room temp

When you sterilize grains, how long do you guys wait at the minimum after it's done, for the pc to cool down and to remove your jars? I'm wondering how many runs I can do in a single day with my All American 941

You can take them out when the pressure reaches 0 if you want.

I thought you had to wait for it to cool down, to prevent moisture from escaping because of the big difference in temperature?

I don't see any escaping since as they cool the pressure inside the jar is less than outside, you will get some condensation on the inside but it will get reabsorbed. If you release pressure from the PC before it hits 0 you will loose moisture because the grains will be higher than the boiling point of water at atmospheric pressure, boiling in the jars with a higher pressure than the outside of the jar.
I've done consecutive runs like that a few times, really saves time because you can have your grains ready to go as soon as the run finishes and the PC get back up to pressure faster because it's still hot.

Oats stink up the house pretty bad too. Especially if you used your PC for the soak. Never doing that again.

Wanted to get an answer for cultures/masters being in an unplugged/unpowered fridge without AE GE etc. for a week at a time if the power goes out.
Would they suffocate and suffer in health or cause anaerobic bacteria to take over? or would it just let the cultures over colonize while at room temp with no poor effect of lack of air? Obviously I know agar doesn't need barely any ge so I am mainly asking for my masters, LC's, LI's, and cakes.

When storing in a fridge you want to keep the temps from fluctuating as much as possible, big swings in temps causes massive amounts of condensation which could lead to wet filters and bacterial issues. That's why when storing in the fridge, it's best to place cultures inside an insulated lunch box so when the fridge kicks on/off from reaching temp or getting up to temp that the temperature inside the lunchbox stays pretty steady and is barely effected.
