lol I cleaned a bunch in the shower last time. They were so gross and covered in green spores I hosed them down outside and then put them in the tub for a giant bubble bath and then I just drained the tub turned the shower on and got in there with them.
Cube spores are whatever but those green clouds that puff off bad jars....forever unclean.
Wtf is somebody gonna do with 50lb a month. It would take me so long just to establish a network that could give that much out for free.
It’s really funny sometimes how bad people overestimate their capabilities. I bet the guys daydreaming about the Scrooge mcduck pool of money he’s gonna have and then six months from now he’ll finally pull off a few ounces and that’ll be the end of it.

If you're running 70 monos then get out the electric knife. 50lb/month sounds like enough to feed a few big fish in the pond. Wouldn't that be a sight all lit up with a nice setup... let's aim for 100 though, one nice big warehouse type room decked out with shelves and LEDs. The aesthetics are important ya know. Starbones, my PE6 don’t drop spores at all unless you let the caps go so long they’re inside out, and even then it’s not much.
I’ve seen other peoples grows that drop spores like normal but it’s an option and something to look for
Or just grow PE. It takes longer to fruit but yields well and they’re potent and you won’t have to worry about spores

Anywho, i'm not looking forward to noccing them up though. I'm going to stand my SAB up on it's side, but i still feel like pouring LC into them is going to be a huge pain in the ass.
If you have syringes to pull the LC into that might be a cleaner approach if your LC is solid.

Does anybody else here use the wet towel method for packing and sterilizing spawn bags? I read this online a couple months ago and I started doing it and haven’t had any problems at all with contams or popped bags. Not saying this is a fix all or anything just saying it makes things easier. I make my bags and roll them up tight and take clear packing tape and tape over the lip of the bag onto the bag then I take wet rung out towel and wrap the bags, pack them into the PC, put a wet towel on bottom and top and take another seperater disc and put it on the very top that way if any bags happen to expand(which I haven’t had any problems with at all) then the PC won’t explode. Anyway the bags come out with the tape still on so they stay closed the entire time that way you can actually move them around outside the flow hood or sab without worrying about something getting in. Anyway just wanted to share this.

I’ve never heard of the wet towel method for bags but it sounds brilliant. I will try when I do bags next.

I've never had problems just accordion folding my bags. The weight of more bags on top keeps them folded and the top bags have a trivet on top in case they expand.
They seal themselves upon cool down and I have 0 issue moving them around. I even left one sitting on the shelf for 3 months before inoculating and it grew a tub just fine.
Towels seem like they would take up a lot of space in the pc

I like have long that extra seal. Piece of mind is gold to me and time is precious. Plus even though the bag does seal itself it can still come open if you move it around. The towels only take up as much space as you need them to. That’s actually the point to take up that extra space. Keeps the bags from puffing up, unfolding and such, keeps them nice and tight. Also I’ll just use three medium-small sized towels in my 26qt pc one on the bottom one in the middle and one on top and stuff it down the sides and inbetween the bags and I can fit 6 3lb bags in there. That’s all I can fit with or without the towels anyway.

My PE6 which may be gone now, replaced by Melmac, dropped so few spores I let whole tubfulls of caps turn inside out because the canopy didn't flush at the same rate and well I could. Didn't even stainy finger much. These Melmac are very similar in that respect. I love it.

I've got PE6 on LC right now and I'm hoping for good things. Looking to get Melmac in Canada at some point as well. I miss growing shoeboxes from MS for clone hunting. That's how I found my bizarros with the thick stipes, small caps that crack 80% of the time. Still can drop an arseload of spore though.

I'm gonna have some agar plate leftovers soon after doing transfers.
I wan too add them to soil for growing some plants. Is it as straightforward as mixing it with the compost/soil mix?

I think if i try bags again, i'll have to do that. I just finished noccing them up, and to say i'm not confident is a fuckin understatement. Pretty frustrated, especially because 3 bags had pinhole leaks so they are trash. I had in the back of my mind that when moving to bags, a flowhood is basically a necessity, so i'm really more frustrated with myself thinking i could get away without one. I can't justify a flowhood ATM
But i'm in luck! For just a FRACTION of the price, i can buy one of these trick-ass "flowhoods!"

Why wouldn't it be? Yeah man, just toss them in there, throw the plastic out.

Had a flush from this tub a little under a week ago. Is this mold? Will I get another flush? There is a little standing water on the bottom but not much.

I've got a grain question for the crowd . . . After pressure cooking, how long do I have to wait for a pint-sized grain jar (oats, in my case) to cool before dropping agar wedges into them?
Typically I PC my grains at night and leave them to cool until the morning . . . but I'm going hiking tomorrow and don't want to fuss with my SAB at 6am
