Soak the wbs for 12 hours, strain it out and let it sit for 20 minutes then load it up and pc. If it’s too dry soak for 15 hours next time.

Done.

Or pour two half pints of wbs into a quart jar, then add 80% of a half pint of water. Pc. Done.

In the QR code? Yes. And the app is pretty decent, the QR can contain quite a bit of information formatted however you want. For example
Quote:

• Variety: Cambodian cubensis
• Lineage: MS T5
• Spawn weight: ?

... You can add at least double that before the QR becomes too convoluted for me to trust that tiny little label.

Just don’t take the jars near a window. Or near a mirror that shows a window even. Gubmint spy satellites will read that code and a QRT will be on you in seconds. The threat is real bro. The threat. Is real.

Room temperature water, or boiling for the soak? ALso, if I want to add coffee to that soak, should it be liquid or spent grounds?

Right? They’re supposed to just be us, occasionally taking the reigns. Not attacking and kidnapping us for altering our consciousness which is the most human thing to do besides have sex. I wa s’only kidding at first but that shits for real. Fuckers.

Stick with coffee in your soak water if anything. I’d stay away from grounds all together

Whatsuuup guys. About 4 new side pins today. Just wondering, should I take extra measures to mist these side pins and sides of the cakes? Because generally, I just spray the cakes from above and it lands on the tops.

Greetings

Quick question: has anyone tried doing a hot pour over a swab tip?
Spores can apparently survive high temps (122F) so I wondered whether this might help clear some bacteria from the print.
Of course, if the print is a bit dirty then there are other spores to worry about.

In a SAB, open up print. Snip the end off a swab, swab print. Open a fresh Petri. Drop in swab tip with spores. Pour on hot agar. Lid and leave to germinate.

Edit: open Petri from packaging only once to germinate spores. Reduces contam chances and SAB work by 1 step

Would this be a waste of time? I can’t try it for a few weeks but if there are any volunteers then please share results!

Got it yeah I knew misting pins wouldn't hurt them I was just wondering, you know how you're supposed to mist from above and let the mist settle on top of the cake? Since I have side pins, I was wondering if I had to mist the sides of the cakes directly, get what I'm saying? Or just keep only misting the top

Manual misting mimics what naturally occurs in the mushrooms natural habitat. Fill your chamber with a fine indirect mist from above, don't over think things. You are the replacement for a humid, misty morning.

You do want some of the mist to hit the sides if possible, just don’t overdue it and give time for evaporation. Have you filled the bottom with water yet if you got enough pins?

why, who cares if it hits the sides  don't over complicate something so mindlessly simple.

Nvm, I read "don't "

Got it, thanks folks. @p9hu7 I only asked about side misting because I knew the top gets more damp than the sides, ya know? That combined with side pins, I didn't know if they would dry too much.

I've opened my rice bags today, after almost seven weeks of colonization (fuck UB tek).  One had the wonderful smell of mushrooms, the other two had a faint sour smell, kind of like the earlier G2G transfers that went bacterial (which I assumed to be due to too much liquid).  Nevertheless I spawned them in two tubs with pure coco coir and made four more tubs using premade culinary cultures.  Let's see how that adventure goes.

I might be misunderstanding but if it took 7 weeks to colonize one of those little uncle Ben bags it’s probably not doing well.
