Mushrooms are probably not spoiled as long as they aren't obviously rotting and melting or otherwise look extremely sad for some reason. If you're still worried just make a tea and boil for 15 min which equates to a normal sterilization cycle invitro pins right at and before full colonization isn't a good sign but then again Idk what culture you're working with exactly Gl

Prolly a bit less potent tho.
If they are fruiting without being fully colonized then either top fruit or toss, they won't pin unless they have colonized everything they can, so if they are fruiting at 50% the other 50% is bacteria.
A shake would just kill em.
The fully colonized ones could do alright in shoeboxes depending on a number of factors

Here workin off the phone so apologies for the rotated pics.

Werenβt obviously rotting to me but some were bruising blue, on the soft side, and generally smelled a little bit mustier than usual. Iβll go ahead and do that Mat, these days itβs my ritual, always make lemon ginger tea with lemon balm extract, love it.

To get pre cut liners to stick, I give the inside of my tubs a quick sprits with a spray bottle. The liner sticks to the walls with a little moisture.

Combining that with precut sounds gucci, but I like Eats stream liners for the easy clean up and for the the way you can leave corner tabs for handling and the rest looks super clean.
I'd love to see that write up big Nate! π€
Sprits the tub with h20 before putting in the liner. Pre-cut or trash bag it will hold it. Painters masking plastic works great but I like 33 gal trashbags atm.

I've been using eats method pretty much exclusively with a couple tweaks to fit my 50L tubs. Think I'm using the "regular" size glad bags. But yeah no cutting or fucking around or trimming in place. I use them as is, just folded over itself. This also gives me two layers of liner on 3 of 4 walls which can be helpful in keeping water off the sub.
They look neat :
And the long handles in the corners allows me to do this with ease:

seriously this method combined with the spraying iso or water on the walls to hold it in place has been working so good for me I can't see me doing trying anything else.
I also can't believe at one point I never used liners...now that I have....never going back

Why liners?
I mean, I know all the cited reasons.
But what about with you guys specifically...what do you see that has you taking the time to add them again and again?

Perfect conditions almost always without fucking around endlessly. True set and forget.
The condensation that builds up in a monotub or shoebox always drips back onto the sub for me and causes water pooling and the other issues that come with that. Then you are dabbing here and there with paper towel, while trying to mist other spots that maybe lack water droplets on the surface. It can be a real pain in the ass.
Liners allow that condensation to drip down below the sub itself. It really is what makes it work so well IMO.
Also the liners shrink with the sub and really eliminate those sidepin causing microclimates from forming.
so for me it is worth it. Also, as mentioned many times before, it makes clean up a breeze. But I think I would use them even if it didn't make clean up easier. Not having to tinker with surface conditions constantly is pretty awesome
Here's a set and forget tub. Never misted prior to first flush. The only thing that happenedd is spawning, casing around 10 day mark, and removing one layer of tape from each set of holes when casing reached like 75% colonization.

I picked up this thermal label printer. Phomemo M110. I made a label template that prints the current date and time and a QR code that contains variety and lineage and weight.

Does it look like it's meant to be?? I think so. I just need to search for and order rolls of continuous label and I'm really set.

You scan it and it takes you to a spread sheet? Or...?
Lineage and weight? Care to explain that in this context?

Just looked at one on the zon and I almost bought it. I love data and that would make records a lot easier to retrieve.

Can someone hook me up with their preferred, modern WBS tek?
I have crappy bird seed from Dollarama, has some corn so it gets extra starchy. I have used it successfully before, but I want advice on which method to use considering the starch from some oats and corn, both split.
https://www.dollarama.com/en-CA/p-wild-bird-food/3039891
I will be doing agar transfers to it so no extra moisture from LIs for now.
I have gypsum powder which I will add to help with clumping.
For additives:
1- I would be down to add coffee, I personally enjoy the though of varied sources of nutrition for the myc. What should I do? Brewed Coffee for the soak water? Spent grounds in the jar? Fresh grounds in the soak water/jar? Or since this is iffy
2- I do have nutrional yeast? Not sure if that is ever used but it is nutrient dense.
3- Any other additives to starchy wbs that might counter balance it? How much gypsum should I use if stickyness is for sure an issue?

Any way you can add notes to those? Like "fumbled wedge" or "rough movement" or "bumped the sab"?
