chitin is broken down by cooking it
people normally don't cook cubes

Chitin gets broken down when it is cooked.
Fry up your fresh cubes and they won't bug your stomach.
Damn, munch beat me to it

been thinking about frying cubes alot honestly, i just think the iron pan's surface will be too hot, killing the actives. I'd like to at least have a choice when preparing them that way. For many years I toyed with the idea of a "drug dinner" where everything would be lightly satured with active substances
most mushrooms i otherwise i eat, i fry in a pan, with normal butter and salt and pepper.
you could half way oven dry them, and then marinate them too edit: im hungry

Just don't overdo it. I cook crimini for 4min and cubes for like 2.
I find mushrooms are much more heat tolerant than research claims.
But i think it's because they tested pure psilocybin, not actual mushrooms I think the chitin protects the actives

Box has completely stalled in the past 3-4 days, I see a tiny pin. Should I toss this box? I took it out of my closet where I have 4 more and have nowhere else to put it.

Don’t toss it, just give it time. Looks like knots are forming so be patient and leave it be. Just keep it on a shelf somewhere away from the others in natural ambient light if you’re worried. I don’t see any visible contams though.

This is the container I always use for weighing out my LME. Was making some LC's and when I finished using the container there was an almost perfect on the bottom. Shall I take this as a sign that the mushroom gods are smiling down upon me?

Gan said: What do yall think about this culture? It's done this for 3 transfers now (ignore the T2 written on the plate, it should be T3). My thought was the growth towards the center of the culture is potentially a mold mixed with the myc and the healthier/stronger looking sectors of growth on the leading edge is the myc outrunning the contam after a while.
But I've taken tiny transfer of the leading edge 2 out of 3 times so far and it looks like this every time. Fuzzy, weak growth towards the center and more rhizo strong growth in sectors on the edge. Probably gonna just go back to spores and start again.

That looks good to me, I’d definitely run it.
What recipe are you using? I’ve noticed when I use lower nute plates I’ll get thinner growth like that more often.
Interesting. I'm gonna throw it to grain soon then. I've been using 1.5% lme. I may bump it up to 2% just to see what's up. I need to change up my recipe soon for some of my cultures. Glad to know that's just weak growth. I've never had it prolong out to T3, which is why I was unsure. Thanks mayne

They start by learning what The mushrooms need on a smll scale. Learn to read the conditions so they know how to adjust their setup.
Do a handful of shoeboxes to learn what clean spawn and good surface conditions look like. Then do a bunch of monotubs to be even more sure of everything. Then you can do trays in a Martha...
But jcm is right. Monotubs are the least effort automated setup.
Those who figure it out keep it to themselves because it's easier to send you in a direction where you learn how to eyeball conditions and clean spawn.
Without those skills, growing in bulk in a massive climate controlled growroom will be a disastrous waste of time and money

Mono tubs function as an automated chamber.
For stuff like pans there’s plenty of write ups on chambers with fog, fans, heaters and timers.

Eh. I'd rather deal with 20 beds in a large greenhouse than 40 tubs in my house. But to each their own.
Any more than 10 monos and i would want to switch things up
