Well hold on theyre still immature if theyre oysters, ill take a picture of the massive specimen on this tree when I have daylight. As far as it being omphalotus, my specimen has forking gills, if not forking then teired. All of my research shows that omphalotus doesn't. Do golden oysters? how do I print them to compare?

I just checked out the jack o lanterns. I think that’s probably it too. Wikipedia says it’s bioluminescent which is awesome.
Shut the lights out and check the gills after a few minutes

I'm gonna check the bioluminescent thing but these gills are identical to golden mushrooms and not jackolaterns and my states conservation guide states that there's no poisonous oyster lookalikes reported in the state. Missouri that is
Id be even happier to know they were jack o lanterns honestly, I dont eat choice mushrooms so its be cool to just have some toxic mushroom matter lying around. Also would need to pull it from my yard for my dogs safety.

The fuck is this lol

I assume it's something bacterial. That is not mold. The color you see in that pic is the stem and myc dying/rotting. I only get it with this GT clone culture. I've run these genetics about six times and I usually see it after the second flush, but it's first flush this time.
Its a shame. I really like this culture, but I might just scrap it.
I have some of this on agar I can take pics of. Its the same culture in my sig. Always looks great on grain and then goes south during fruiting.

Nah I would say that is from mold that hasnt sporulated yet.
Actually I am 1000% sure you'll see green/blue in that spot any day

Yeah mold always comes a few days after the rotten stems. Its weird. With other cultures I dont usually see fruits drop dead like that.

By your description, idk. By looks, it appears like a bunch of water dropped off the lid in that spot or trich under the surface...

It's a spot of mold and it's killing the mushroom mycelium in its vacinity. Mold myc can start sub surface and wreak havoc as it travels through the sub to the surface.
In the next few days that spot will be green/blue for sure.

This isn't a good spot to get identification advice. These are just guesses here. Go to the proper subforum for a safer bet. I guearantee they arent oysters, oyster gills go down the stem, these dont

100% not oysters. Stay safe if your gonna start hunting. It's been a great year for it but it only takes one mistake to fuck up your shit for a long time. I worked with a guy that ate some mush he thought were safe. Last time I talked to him he went in once a week for dialysis and had been for a year.

But those ring-less honey mushrooms are a decent edible.
