Excellent, thanks I appreciate the info. I'll wrap it up and throw it in a ziplock then the fridge. Won't be long before I cut a piece maybe 18hrs or so.

If it werent too wet it might make it, but in the middle of summer itll probably be a breeding ground for bacteria and maybe even mold. Ive seen some horror stories, people straight up used to tell people it's fine to leave around. But i completely disagree

Hello all.  I have these 2 tubs that I need help with.  Both have been colonizing for 10 days. One is hooo coco and verm. And the other is coco verm.  Ms syringe to brf to bulk.  This is where I’m having most of my issues. I get all my tubs to colonize then when it comes to fruiting I fuck things up and stall or get a few big blobs. I’m growing in shoe boxes.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Do I go ahead and put these into fruiting?  Should I dub tub em or leave the lid loose.

Hpoo brf. I cases it when I made the tray.  The hpoo under the casing is totally colonized but the growth on the casing seems to have slowed.

Brf to bulk coco verm 10days as well. Pseudo casing.

Need help with what to do next. I really want to get over this hurdle in my growing experience.  Ty

Forst tub looks pretty good. Second one doesn't look horrible either. Looks a little dry it there but other than that just be patient.  They look a little dry. Spray a couple of mists of water in the air above the substrate and let it "rain" down on the sub

I highly suggest you look onto agar and grain

Yeah you don’t want the casing colonized, it should look just like yours does with the myc mostly protected underneath and just the knots poking through.

I have a lot of water heading down the sides on those tubs. Hard to see in the pic.  Should I start to fruit them or wait a little longer.  Thanks.

Honestly I tried agar. It’s so hard for me to make this happen.  I live in a condo and it’s just a pain in the ass to have a great sterile working area like I need for agar transfers.  I have wife and kids and can’t really have my own area.

I had a contammed grow I placed outside.  Didn’t think much of it. Now there’s like over 100 mush growing from it. But i need to move it.  It’s not in an ideal area.  Can I dig it up and move it while it’s pinning like this.  Will it die.  Anyone have experience with this.

Try to keep the sub intact it should be fine. Don't bring it inside though if it was contammed. Seems sketchier digging it up than just picking the mushrooms and acting like there's no big deal.

To me, putting a shoebox into fruiting conditions isnt a thing. The lid lets plenty of air in. When the pinset comes in i may unclip them

You can take your biopsy/clone sample and put it in a new clean baggy/or ziploc. The myc will start to grow out looking for food and then when your plates are ready just transfer it in using a tweezers.

Edit: it's cloneufc's tek however he puts the sample straight from the baggie to grain. I keep it in the baggie until I have a plate ready. Then I can ensure cleanliness on agar.
Keep the sample small and the air compressed out of the baggie.

You could also lay out some wet cardboard in a small small jar, seal it and boil it for 20 min. Clone to that and move it to agar when you can

Plastic baggie works fine for a couple days if the fruit is fairly clean. This is a fluke white GT after 2 days in the fridge. Cloned just fine.

Apparently scientists use SAB outside sometimes so it shouldn’t matter where you live as long as you’re careful.

I seem to go on weird streaks where suddenly I’ll have mold on 50% of my plates after months of hardly any.

I’ve used them as early as 5 days with great results.

They get contaminated very easily though, make sure it’s not cloudy before you use it.

The one on the left is bad, the one on the right was good.

Sometimes even clear ones are contaminated though.

So, not waiting to long? I use reserve osmosis water boiling it in a Jar for 40 min with 4% Honey. I do multible jars hopefully it works fine without problems. Temps are 22-24 celsius. Thanks

Why is liquid culture better than direct in grain jars?

So I just poured my first agar plates last night, then had a handful of GT fruits to harvest this morning. This guy was the only thing growing in one of my shoeboxes:

I decided to cut it in half to help it dry and fit between the layers of my dehydrator without getting smushed and found out its stipe is completely solid:

Is this worth trying to clone? I put half in a baggie in the fridge for now, so could I still cut into it to take a sample from a spot that hasn't been exposed or is there no point since I've already handled it and cut it open?

You can still clone it for sure. Just try to get inside one of the halves and take your tissue sample before to long. I’d say go for it! Looks meaty :super:

I almost threw my scalpel across the room last night trying to drop a small wedge into my LC. How the fuck do you get it off the scalpel?

On a2a transfers it's easy cause you just drag the blade through the agar. But this was my first time doing LC and it was a shitshow lol

Just barely put your blade over the edge and pull it back against the rim of the jar like you would with a2g. Firmer agar might help lol
