biggest of the twins was 110g wet - is this above average?
110 taken by biopsy to 7 agar jars 2 hours ago
the inside of the stem was a impressive structure huge strong fibers of mushroom tissue, like a stretched muscle quite the adventure
im really unsure of the tissue I took - its hard to explain but it lacked completely aerial or obvious mycelium inside the stem
seemed very healthy, also got spores from it.

Has it increased yield? Most of it is probably discarded...

I have coir sitting above field capacity in a cooler waiting for jars and it makes me anxious af that the coir might somehow blunder things
Can one of you vets console me or tell me what's up?

Currently running 62 monotubs in my basement and getting a tad bit bored. I had an idea I would try to farm out to see if there was any interest.
I have an isolate which puts out fruits that are nearly 1:1 with another.
What about making a Shroomery "Science" Testing Initiative? A community testing effort for the smart to the bizarre. I could fully dedicate another 10 tubs to "test" grows using the isolate and introducing nearly any parameter community members desire. I could then post regular updates on each of the 10 tubs in a thread and compare them against the oodles of controls.
Do they want to see what adding ChampFood would do? Perhaps see about misting with a pre-emergent(?) Fungicide would do? Perhaps they have a cereal grain to check on, a bulk sub adjunct. Perhaps they want to see a substrate made by hydrating coir with boiled grain water. Anything. I could pick ten interesting considerations, grow them to first flush and log the results against the control tubs.
After those ten are done, resulted evaluated and thenstart the next ten with new ideas and maybe continue some ideas that showed real merit.

How long are you waiting for? What brand of coir is it?

I've got a nice size mushroom id like to take a tissue sample from, whats the best way to store it untill I can make some plate up tomorrow.
Normally I just take the sample right then and there and move it to my SAB then remove a piece onto agar.... but this one caught up to me, and I don't have any plates made up

I usually put my mushroom I want to clone from in a paper bag sealed tight in the fridge until I’m ready to take my tissue sample. You usually open the stipe to take from anyway so it’s sealed inside the stipe away from any outside possible contams.

Hmmm no paper bags laying around but I do have ziplocks, do you think that would work then throw it in fridge? Or would it condensate to much in plastic.
Ya i usually open mine up and take from the inside middle area of the stipe

That should work in a pinch for a day maybe wrap it in a clean paper towel first.

Eco earth. Probably less than a week for the jars to finish I accidentally made way more coir than I needed AND over hydrated it a bit.

Add verm to field capacity. Open it and dry it out completely. If you can, lat it out on oven sheets and put a fan in the room. I would dry it completely then rehydrate when i need it
