I only clean them if it develops mold in between uses. Otherwise I do same as you, the little layer on the bottom gets mixed in with the next round.

It’s too hot for me to start mine yet but there’s a bunch of threads with kings in monos. I guess the reason you can do it with them is because the stems are good to eat and people prefer to grow them with less air for that reason.

I've never seen an oyster worth the trouble that was grown in a mono. Yeah they grow, but they look like they have AIDS when compared to a properly grown gourmet.
Growing an oyster without proper airflow because you want leggy AIDS mushrooms seems ridiculous, but hey, who am I to say.

I’ll search around and see. Found some decent deals on cultures. I’m going to get, reishi, king oyster, blue oyster and shiitake.

I just pulled these up real quick but like I said kings seem to be doable, other oysters not so much.

I’ve been wanting to get some bags for gourmets so I can sell at farmers markets but they’re pretty fuckin expensive unless you buy in bulk, which is also expensive. Not really clear on the micron ratings for the filters either. Plus I’d need to build a flowhood and steam sterilizer to make it really worth it.
Was thinking I’d build a flow cabinet using c10’s build but after hearing about the freestanding ffu’s you guys had a couple pages back I’m not so sure now lol.

I went on a bit of a research bender last night, but ended up with more questions than answers. Wondering if anyone has scientific evidence related to the rate of conversion in humans of psilocybin to psilocin.
After reading studies detailing the psilocin-rich nature of Pans compared to the psilocybin-rich nature of Cubes, my gut is telling me that the conversion rate is low, which leads directly to Pans being more effective at lower dosages.
However, I’ve also read studies where the introduction of hydrochloride to the grow media of Cubes produced much higher psilocin levels at the cost of psilocybin. Seems like it might be possible to give Cubes an alkaloid output similar to Pans, is what I’m getting at. Just trying to figure out if it’s worth the effort to experiment with this.

That depends, I believe, based on whether or not you need pure hydrochloride (which is what I’m most interested in researching myself). For example, you can buy OTC antihistamines like cetirizine hydrochloride.
It’s also worth pointing out that the study used “a 25 mM concentration of tryptamine (as hydrochloride)“ in the medium. It’s the biotransformation of the tryptamine that’s the factor, I just felt like going with hydrochloride, as they did in the study, would be easiest and cost effective.

I think the yawning is psychosomatic. It's a reflex. It's not the shrooms its you.
Edit: psychosomatic might not the right word. I equate the yawning to similar physical or mental knee jerks. Like, pretending you weren't looking at her boobs. Or maybe ur just bored as shit because we just sit still waiting for the experience like we're waiting for the bus. Saying shrooms make you yawn is like saying the bus makes you yawn. It's the waiting.
More from the desk of dr mushboy phd bro science.
