if you didn't vent your pressure cooker, the interior never got to 250f and your agar probably will be contaminated.
I have a PID controlled pressure cooker that I did an experiment with to see the temp inside when not venting. I found that starting at 56f and with the weight on the whole time you are only at 214f at 15 psi instead of 250f.

Got 5 poops of cow manure from a local source, pretty dried out, shit psilos (subcoprophila) were already pinning from em, so its certified good. Picked em up off the ground on the wrong side of the fence, local source.
Also saw sheep dung, didnt take. Too much hassle.
Man with shrooms you can do everything local and ecological, you take compost, you re-use jars, you use manure from grass feeders, and straw. No problem. Value straight from the ground.
So what if you have to buy a lil equipment, a lil coir, a lil grains

Bodhi also did a thread on this a year ago or something. Proper venting is critical.

I already pored the plates and they are waiting for me to transfer to them. I hope the 40 degree difference won’t make or break me. Still not sure why it didn’t vent properly :/ it’s a presto 23q btw

Maybe do a video of the process when you get a chance. There should be an almost constant stream of steam before you put the weight on.

If it was just agar I’m sure it’s fine, it sterilizes way faster than grain.

Thanks guys for the help. I’ve been out of the cult side of things for a good long while. Kinda cool getting back into it. I’m sure it vented enough because when I put the weight on pressure started to build right away. It just didn’t steam for some reason. I’ll let you all know how the transfers take on the agar.

Another question for y’all... What are some good edible/medicinal mushrooms that you can grow in shoeboxes? If there isn’t any could someone point me in the direction on how to learn edible/medicinal mushroom cultivation?
Edit: I would like to try reishi and blue oyster. Not 100% sure on where to get spores or cultures for edible/medicinals. If anyone is willing to part with some I’m willing to trade or something

Buy liquid culture syringes from one of the vendors. I wouldn't grow gourmets in shoeboxes, you can definitely get away with it but you will have less than satisfactory results. Order some myco bags while you're at it and grow in those. Reishi takes longer than average so a shoebox will certainly dry out before you get anything.

I’ll start looking that up. I’ve always wanted to grow the antler reishi out because they look cool and I would like to try the medicinal effects of it. Do you have any links you can share on ways to grow them? Also any edible links would be cool. I guess I can look around too but if you know of any good ones that work for you please let me know.

Because they both work just as well for cubes, but require very different amounts of up front attention.
I love collecting hpoo though lol, just because we have wild horses in the sand dunes right at the ocean and it’s a whole experience. I’m waiting for fall to get a decent haul but I’ll pick some up for these pans I’ve got my mouth watering for.

Just search for them using the search function, read as mush as you can and try to grow them as much as you can. They'll grow like any other mushroom on supplemented sawdust or fuel pellets.

King oyster can be run in shoeboxes, mixing in hwfp helps a ton.

Do y'all bother cleaning your media bottles?
Mine always has a skim of agar on the inside that i can't seem to get rid of. Brushing it doesn't do any good so I just leave in in there and it becomes part of the next batch.
