Does anyone know of the smallest PC that will fit these 500mL media bottles ?

I can’t find a 23qt or even a 16qt presto anywhere. Sold out everywhere. Nothing on the local spots either. Going to have prints soon and want to put them on agar.

Thanks for your help. They’re these bottles

Still on the search for grains, the guy in the south said the minimum order with the current quarantine laws is 10 tons, a bit more wheat than I'd need. Has anyone ever tried alpiste? Canary grass in English. It looks like it might prep like Rye grass seeds so I may give it a whirl and see how it performs.

Hello hive mind again, question. I've found limited answers searching the forum, so I wanted to ask for clarification.

I've got a stalling problem. The first flush went super well, good harvest. Had lots of pins following it. And now they've... stopped. And the other tubs I have aren't colonizing either. I don't know if I've used too low of a grain/sub ratio (1 part grain, 2 parts coir). I don't know if I need to try re-dunking them before they've even finished colonizing the first time. I don't know if I add more grain-spawn if there is a downside. Any advice and/or direction to some good reference posts I'm not finding? Do I need to change my methods for next time?

Tub with pins, looked pretty much like this for 3 days.

Another one of the tubs, it's made very little progress over the last 7 days. Less than a centimeter of growth around each point. And it's the better off of the two tubs from that batch.

Dont add more grain spawn. Just bring the sub back to capacity and let it chill.

Sometimes if the first flush is huge the sub can be spent. One and done deal.

Now, just to be clear, what do you mean by 'bring the sub back to capacity?'.

They won't fit in a 6qt, so it needs to be a little bigger than that. 10qt+ should do the trick. For information's sake, the 250mL bottles fit absolutely perfectly in a 6qt. Can fit at least 4, could probably do 8.

I needed to start new since a few of my last pf tek were contaminated with his spider web thing.

Cooked them this time to kill the other gems and now I don't know about the air in the storage box. It's about 1.5 - 2.0 the size of an shoe box and has a 6 holes on the front and on the back which are closed with tea bag paper.

Do the 6 jars get enough air? I open it daily and shove fresh air.

Ok so how's this sound?
What if I put a hole in the side of the SAB for flaming, see picture?

The idea is to reduce air movement from the trips outside to the flame.
But I'd ad a hole to the side.

Yes it's a 90 Qrt SAB, I could have the flame, like a half an X-Acto length away.
Notice the cool as flock torch holder!

Love the holder, but...

Unless I am mistaken, putting an intense heat source inside the SAB will cause convective air flow which undermines the whole purpose of the SAB.

EDIT: Never mind, I was looking at it backwards. You are leaving the flame outside and pushing the blade out to the flame.

whatever you're putting to the flame stays hot for more ten seconds- that should be sufficient time to move the tool back through the arm holes.

He isn’t moving the tool through the armholes. Read the post again.

I wasn't talking about what he's doing... I was describing the regular way of doing it and that he doesn't need to do what he's doing.  Open to argument.  Jesus.

Pasty I'm still getting RWs from the garden
and the wifie sez she likes them better than PESA!

No AtmozFear, the point is not to go in and out of the SAB.
I'm trying to reduce air currents in the SAB.
I know what you mean...

In fact I was thinking if I make like a 1" hole then I could use
the edge of the hole for aiming at the flame outside.

Really this is just a noob's struggle to reduce the contam rate.
