Space was right, coir is great in the oven. The coir tek I wrote myself is about prepping coir in the oven. Coir literally does not give a fuck. Not sure why you ignored him for that..
I was actually just coming in to address that. Been asleep since last night, ate way too many mushrooms last night.
Clearly I was out of my mind because I don't even remember writing that. Fixed it. Need to stay off these forums when I'm tripping because I clearly become dumb as nails when I do.

Isn't this what cronicr was talking about.
I prefer faster growing strains myself.

It goes deeper than that. While I like to drive fast, I much prefer potency to speed of growth

Azur has been banned and removed from this thread...remember guys this is still cult not the pub not a journal...keep the talk generally about cultivation and stick within the rules of the forum or I'll be coming in heavy handed.

so um, like… I keep getting satellites, but I feel like I'm doing everything the same. But satellites mean it's technique, right? Every time? I don't get it. I think it may have to do with my transfer samples riding up the blade, and me getting impatient trying to lay it on the new plate. But I dunno.
Should I try to just take larger transfers and see if that helps at all? This is getting pretty ridiculous. Some of these plates have sat unused for about a month and still appear clean. It's just really been driving me crazy.

Are your tools sanitized or sterilized? I was having issues until I started hitting my whole blade, handle and all, with iso and setting it in the SAB while the air settles. Usually dry and clean by the time I get back. I realize that wouldn't kill everything but it seems to have killed whatever I was having problems with before, at the least.

so just dunking the whole scalpel in ISO? I was leaving it in foil after PC'ing it, but after a couple of transfers, it'd give me satellites again. Maybe I'll start using a glass of ISO to dip in before flaming. That may help.

I don't dunk it, I spray it with my spray bottle full of iso. Don't dip in iso before flaming... that's an awful idea. I only do the iso thing once. If you're using sterilized tools and a few transfers in, satellites start happening, then it's your technique. If you can't get your tool all the way in there without causing that, just use the inner edge of the plate to knock the wedge off the blade. I do that like, 9 times out of 10 because I don't give a fuck where it lands. The blade is pretty much the only thing that goes over the plate, no handle, nothing else.
It's also still a contam-prone month, spore load is high, feels like a sumo's armpit outside depending on where you live..

Shit I just got an idea, will probably forget it, so I'll just drop it here. Agar plates where the lid has a sort of... stalactite hanging from it, in the middle of the underside. You lift the lid, slide it to the side slightly, swipe your sample on the tab on the underside of the lid, and then you set the lid back down, and it lightly presses the inoculate into the center of the dish perfectly every time. Nothing goes over the dish but the lid.
I haven't thought it all the way through to conclude if it's dumb or not but... there you have it. Totally unnecessary but... depending on a person and their specific vectors, somebody could probably find use in it.

So, but I started getting super careful. I usually use pastyplates and try and keep them upside-down for the most part. Especially being it's summer and my spore load is outrageous.
The lip of the plate is a good idea. I'll probably have to do that. I think it has to do with finagling trying to get the wedge off the blade. My clean x-fers don't seem to have it happen, but they get pretty crazy. I've been just about to pull my hair out. Things were going well here in the spring…
I know my technique has to be part of it. I will probably try to do a bunch of practice transfers from clean plates now that I have so much time off. Try and see what is really happening. Thanks, guys
I started thinking it had to do with my lazy pp cleaning, but the sterilized plates don't show any issues. Could it still be a filter fail? Like, once the foil comes off, and the plate breathes more?

It could be that if you're using single layer of micropore and it's not the best quality.

It's double layer and the regular 3M brand. Hmmm. I'll probably change all the tape on the plates. I did notice one had a greenish hue by the GE hole. It's just so aggravating. Even plates I know I specifically couldn't hover over because they were upside down the whole time.
Literally the only things that've changed is, it's hot out, and I stopped cleaning the SAB with alcohol. It was making the water I spray dehydrate too soon. But that doesn't make sense, because the SAB doesn't need to be that clean, just still. I'm just gonna practice my ass off until I get the results I was getting before A/C season. And yes, the one vent in the room stays closed during work.
If only I had those transfer lids you were talking about… those sound pretty awesome actually.
