Should be easier to get rid of that bacteria.
Is this not ideal as its soo big?

Also where should I put those King cakes in the middle of winter and do I just mist them. Im bottom watering as they look thirsty and have shrunk my substrate.
I have a grain bag, cleans PE plate and all the means. Whats the best way to inoculate a bag in a SAB for the cleanest route?

Pour LI into it.
Or inject with LI. I just pc a 10cc syringe, flame, eject, stab/eject/pull repeat, voila a 10cc syringe of LI. Make sure not to suck any air in. Flame before injection. Just knocked up four 1qt jars of BRF I don't see why it wouldn't work on a bag. Or just drop a wedge if no injection port.

Definitely. That's how I generally grow. RGS with Verm casing after it fully colonizes. Works great. This is an example of two jars done exactly that way ...

Anyone with presto 23 quart pressure canner know if this is the right weight for 15psi?

Either my weight is off or my gauge is screwed cause it starts shaking at 11 psi
I'm thinking and hoping it's just the gauge but would appreciate a second opinion

I just put one of mine on the scale and it weighs the same as yours. Both my 23qt prestos start rocking around 12. I just taped a quarter to the top. Now it gets up to 16 or 17 psi.

Same weight for my 23 quart presto. Mine shakes at 14 psi according to the pressure gauge. I think these pressure gauges are just not made to very stringent standards. Too many tolerances in the manufacturing process maybe? Either way, same as muda, I just use a couple quarters and some tin foil to make sure.

I appreciate that Muda! Thanks for checking! Good to know my scale is calibrated as well
My presto has only been used once kenetic. I placed a towel on the weight to get it up to 15 last time. I'll definitely be taping a quarter on it this time
You're probably right I don't think the gauge is very reliable but I'm sure the extra weight can only do good either way

The weight of mine too reach 15-16 psi is 98gs~ I needed 2 quarters taped on mine. It was maxing out at 13psi before hand.

I noticed people here generally tend to not give a fuck about their gaskets until it is too late. I feel like I'm the only one who removes it after PC'ing, and also the only one who gives it a few tugs around the whole thing. With your hands a few inches apart, gently tug, slide between your hands a few inches and tug again. Then I flip it backwards and upside down and repeat. Then apply to my PC. It's basic proper care that won't end up screwing you when you can't figure out what's wrong.

I'm really glad we're talking about proper PC care. My PC is still fairly newish, so the gasket is fine. I noticed some of y'all put vaseline on the gasket. Is that something I should be doing?

I do the same thing. I just replaced my gaskets after a couple years of heavy use.

I liberally lube my gasket with vegetable oil. As far as tugging gently, I haven't tugged anything gently in a long time. heh. (just a silly joke, obviously take care of your shit.)

Wife texted me a few hours ago and told me a helicopter was circling our small neighborhood. I got home from work, kept circling for about an hour, maybe hour and a half, then gone. So about 3 hours total. Live in BFE, probably 20-30 homes in the mile out mountain circle they were circling.
Hopefully and probably nothing, but makes ya wonder.
