Hey everybody, cheers for all the help getting my first grow on the go. I was wondering if I could had a little moisture to my jars? They were inoculated on the 21st, temps have been between 20ยฐC and 27ยฐC and humidity was 85%, but I noticed it has started to drop to about 70% now.
Thanks

It's possible to add sterile water with a syringe, but its not advised... best to try again and prep a bit wetter
Rh is of no consequence to the jar, I dont even monitor rh bc it's of no consequence really, even in a tub ... 27C is high, are you incubating them? DONT... 20-22C is fine... the chances of adding moisture without contamination are slim to none
Your jars are likely fine, quit helicopter cultivating lol

Hmm that kinda means now I gotta quit crying and build me a steamer.. and just ro be sure.. We can use this to sterilize jars and myco bags and stuff as good as with a pc right? only in larger volumes and probably longer cycles then?
This could really help us along Caps. Now it sounds like only a dumbass cant pull it off lol

Works fine for me...you can find the video in The Nature of Things playlist in the CBC docs channel:

Scroll down like 80 or 90 videos.

Lol, I thought maybe I was being a bit of a helicopter. I'll wait it out and if nothing comes up I'll try to prep a bit wetter.
Much appreciated!

There are so many awesome looking videos on that channel, like stuff I would watch for weeks. They all say blocked in my country though. All the interesting ones say blocked. But gay stuff or race, or some video about being nice to your kids all work lol. strange. I'll find it somewhere.

Built mine for under 100 bucks and have little to no electrical knowledge
Ok Im trying to figure this out but still have a lot of questions.. it operates without pressure then? Steam escapes through halftight lid?
Found a build tek bit that was really complicated (for me at least) with automated water filling and stuff.

Yeah you need to make sure that the water doesnt boil dry, super easy. Just drill a hole in the bottom wall and screw this in. Once that's in you hook it up to a hose with an RV water pressure regulator. It's less complicated than a toilet tank.

Yes you run it at 0 psi, you can run a hose attachment out of the top of the lid with a length of hose or tubing, put the end of that tubing into a jug with water so that the steam condenses into water instead of going into the air.

Very much appreciated! but now Im sure I'll be needing a guy for this project bc I still have no idea how to do this without burning the house down or something..
How long does it need to run to sterilize a load of spawn jars for example? Bc Ive also read it may be just for pasteurizing bulk? Bc I don't need that atm.
Our bottleneck is max 9liter pc available (9,5 qrt) approx.

Once you hit 100c in your center bag, start a cycle for 10hrs.
Honestly it's not that complicated.

Yeah well that's 10 hours after it reaches temperature in your bag, all in you could be anywhere from 18 to 24 hours'ish from fire up to completed cycle.

Ah yes takes a lot of time for all that mass inside to heat up of course.
Sterilizing for 2,5hrs (never reach anywhere near 15psi with EU pc) twice a day bc of small pc capacity really sucks.
Boiling diy contraptions outside that run for hours may attract unwanted attn tho we have appartements right above our yard.. and god knows what sensors big brother has in those police heli's that fly around above our city every night and day since Cov.

Just grow some nice gourmets along with your actives, perfect camouflage. Then you can show off your hobby without being a heat score.
If you're worried about choppers just build a little pergola type deal with a sheet or two of sheet metal over it and their FLIR won't pick it up. Good to keep the cold rain and shit off of it while it's running anyways.

If they fit in the same kind of monotubs sure we can handle some of those as a nice civer / add on. We live extremely small tho with not a single spare room. Living room fruiting is the only option here. Outside in the yard we plan on making woodlover beds and maybe do some edibles too.

There you go, grow outdoor beds of oysters, wine caps etc and now you have a great reason to have all of the accoutrements that go with cultivation

Yโall gonna inspire me to build a big ass steamer lol ... soon
I came up with this conclusion last night as to why I get contams on top my sub.. I had my bulk oat strainer in the same room where the fruits grow just plastic separating the room into 2 halfโs . When I would strain my oats The humidity would get to around 95-100 in both sides... would make walls and floor moist . I just now thought that might be a problem
I would get contams right on top of my sub without myc growing around it. So maby it was the steam coming from the dirty ass oats going past the plastic obviously and in my shoeboxes causing my contams? Maybe I moved the strainer to another room so well c if I still get them contams
& the pc that bowed out at the bottom . Iโm using it rn and the gauge donโt work so I assume it would be aite to go off the rocker ..?

Yea if you dont have the coin for a autoclave than a steamer is a decent option. That's what all the small independent farms have been doing in Asia for decades. They just put the barrels over a fire though.
You are wasting a lot of water and electricity if you are just running the water heater element full blast the whole time. You could probably dial it down to about 75-80% duty cycle after it reaches boiling with a PID that allows that function. Also it would be a great idea to wire a on/off switch at the least so you aren't arcing the plug every time you plug it in and turn it off lmao.
