Welcome to There's a thread called "Increase your post count for free". Some dude in there keeps writing these strange passages about people that make it to 50 posts though

After i harvest my cakes and dunked them for 24 hours and put them back to fruiting chamber. They were smelling good like fresh mushrooms. But after 12 hours i noticed new smell, i dont like it. What should i do. Throw them away or wait until i see contamination?

Wait and see, if they're not green there is a good chance of getting fruits.

So you give him your login information and he posts a bunch of one line comments for you? Seems like the mods should look into that one.

A newb graduation speech.

i'd say the moon doesn't affect "everything". and werewolves aren't real.

I don't think that's an accurate statement. Who can really say what is or isn't real.
Like just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

This is a strange question but I'm starting to see wild shrooms appear and there are certain mountains where I'm from that in the fall are literally covered with all different shrooms I mean every square foot of this mountain has shrooms from 1 cm tall to a foot tall and wide I have a book localized on the species of shrooms around my area and I'm pretty sure there are a couple types that dont have any look alikes and I'm confident I could pick some but I'm still not going to take the chance without an expert with me if u guys were in my position and wanted to find an expert to help you go pick some wild shrooms where would u guys go to find said expert?

Try taking a camera and getting great pics Post them in mushroom hunting and identification forum https://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/3 Trusted Identifiers will be happy to help.

I've got mad respect for the IDers. They're always in there willing to help and some of those dudes seem like wizards with how quick they pop up with answers. I just got into the mushroom hunting this year with everything being shut down but i started a little late.
In the fall and next spring i'll be a permanent fixture in the woods now that i know we've got morels, lions man, reishi, and that chicken of the woods and probably a bunch more cool stuff. Morel hunting was fun as shit. Like an easter egg hunt for adults is what it felt like.

So not that I'm going to try this but just curious so I only use oats and coir and it works great but from what I understand the coir isnt for nutrients it's just for water retention so that being said why dont people just use promix soil?

You may have a local mycological society in your area, do a google search and connect with them. These groups do foraging/identification and perhaps even cultivation.

If I take a nice ms clone and save the myc to a master slant if I ever need to use that slant to make a plate or something is there any way I can insure I get all the strains on that slant to the new plate because the strains will have colonized different parts of the slant and I'm worried if I dont get all the strains to the new dish it wont perform as good
