That first bag is full of cobweb or pin mold. I want to say that I have but I'm not 100 it was that or just some sloppy sterile Tek from plate to jar.

Maybe there’s some cube myc mixed in with the other bag but it’s also so bad looking I wouldn’t wanna touch it.

And do it all without gloves. Naked hands feels soo nice lol. I think the level of concentration and control is higher without the sense of false security you can get from gloves.
I think my hands already shake too much to not use gloves especially with the extra stress of knowing I don’t get a second chance, essential tremors dawg lol. Shit I’m shaking just thinking about it. I know it’s not that big of a deal but fuck man I’ve been reading and working for months to get to this point and I’m finally in the home stretch .
In other news the completely translucent cultures from around the same time are knotting up quite nicely.

Yea, might be, but it doesn't look like the cobweb I had a couple of years back. Kinda looks like wispy cube myc but not quite.
Roger, there's def cube myc in both of them, they looked happy and healthy just 4-5 days ago. Not debating that there also is other stuff there tho. But my contams are usually of a different color than white and thus easy to distinguish, that's why I had to ask.
Anyway, I'll throw em away, I've got a shitloads of better looking bags colonizing anyway. It just surprised me that they look so bad as they were nocced pretty recently and I feel my sterile tek gets better every day, so I would assume the older bags were more likely to contam. But my grow room is way too warm these days, so not unlikely that other stuff can get the upper hand over the cube myc.

Since it’s so big do you think it’d be better to rip it open and take some inner tissue or just slap the whole thing on a plate and call it a day?
Nah, just transfer it whole considering it's your first clone and you don't want to fuck it up. I highly recommend you to use some tweezers, flame them, pull it and just put it into a new plate. Considering it's a plate pin, it should be anexic anyways.
You'll be surprised how quick and pretty the growth's going to be.

I just took one from my oven lol. So I guess you could get them from a place where they're selling ovens. Search for oven rack or fridge rack I guess.

There's a cure for that...more projects. It helps with impatience also, especially if yer like AKA, up to his armpits in petris! Petris are cheap and fun to watch, start some more! Toss'em, start'em, it's all good! Start some shoeboxes, they're like candy!

Hopefully it’s anexic, I haven’t had much luck with my jars yet but that could just be bad grain prep.

Man I don’t even have a lot of plates going compared to some of these guys. I think it was c10 saying hell do 400 a week.
Or verums isolate quest ending in the wall of plates. You guys should look that up it’s called hunting slaves or something I think. About him getting PE isolates.

I know with slants you arent supposed to close the lid tight but what would happen if you did would the myc die I'm just curious because it seems more sanitary and if its dormant in a fridge would it even need air exchange?

Y'all think blank plates are fine after 3-4 weeks? I poured some plates like a week ago but my flow hood should be ready for use in the next week and a half. So I was gonna just wait till my FH is good to go before starting the projects I intended the plates for. I wrapped the shit out of them with saran wrap and put them in some ziplocks. But I never have blanks sitting around for more than a week, so I've never tested how long they're good for. Would it help or hurt to throw them in the fridge as well?

I keep blank plates around for many months at a time, sometimes. So long as they don't contaminate you're gtg *they shouldn'tif you poured them right).
I have poured blanks wrapped and sitting in a mini mono for storage. No need to refrigerate., no need to wrap them more than normal. I do 3 wraps around half a sleeve at a time, then either placed on a shelf or put in a sweater box.

So you can wrap the whole sleeve at once using the saran roll as a whole! I've wondered that for a while instead of wrapping them individually but havent been ready to potentially sacrifice a half sleeve to test it. I don't really know why it wouldn't work, but I just never tested it lol.
