Definitely pin mold should be tons of black dots by morning.

Puffball looks like its turning green?
Cheers fellas, into the trash it goes. The puffball isnt green its actually brown from when the spongiform fruit tissue enters sporulation when removed from the myc. If that white and fuzzy grows out into something i can cut from I'll just be trying to inoculate some stuff outdoors.

It's a 23qt... and I'm failing to see relevance...I lower temp to stabilize 15psi per manufacturer's specifications: likely be in more trouble with MORE pressure... thank you anyhow? lol
Good luck with the puffball: fairly decent eating if prepared properly... it's a difficult texture to say the least though

Yes! Read me! I can fit 6 bags.

I'm putting 6 in a presto? I'll not use the interior vessel... I'm trying to sterilize a full bag of oats at once lol

No dammit! I fit six 5lb bags in my 75X. I don't use the insert and I removed the exhaust tube.

Oh shit for real?
Thatβs what like 30 quarts? I gotta get bags that would be so much more efficient.

Aka u just have to make a sterilizer from a 55 gallon drum and a 15 amp heating element you can use it on any standard plug and you can make them for probably around $750 if u can find a decent place to get a barrel that's the most expensive part

Anyone else have experience with prestos swelling on the bottom? Mine have been doing it for a few months ive noticed, and I cant recall if it's always done it, or they're just worn out... they swell to the point I can rotate them with a light path with a single finger on the handle
Only when I ran it dry. It was really bowed out. I exchanged it. It was only one day old. Sounds scary. Sounds like you need new one

Hey everyone! Hoping to poll the community for some much needed advice.
First time grower here, and I'm wondering if my monotub is too dry. I currently have a Oat/Coir substrate that was spawned 5 days ago. I'm using all of Bod's teks, and have the tub that is listed in his monotub tek as well.
From what I can see in the tub, there is condensation on the sides where the substrate is up against the plastic, but nowhere else. I should say that the FC of the coir was pretty damn close to the example videos I've seen on here.
Should I try and give this a spray or two? Or leave it be until it pins? Thanks in advance!

I would spray I then I usually let it get until about half the walls on the tub are dry then spray it again Just make sure you arent spraying so much that there are droplets coming down the walls the finer the mist the better

I'm not sure whether the condensation rule would be the same, since we are most likely working with different room conditions.. see the quote below, from a very knowledgeable dude afaik.
Quote:
Caps McGee said: Condensation on the walls ONLY indicates a difference in temp on the inside and outside of the tub, will occur with even a dry substrate, and does NOTHING in the way of indicating hydration level... Surface moisture is not the same as wall moisture, or substrate hydration...
That being said, do you typically see any moisture on the surface of your substrate?

Sometimes I do if the substrate starts to produce more moisture on the walls and sometimes the droplets get too big and run down in that case I wipe off the walls and top a bit and it's back to perfect but that almost never happens now that was more when I was getting dialed in but I'm pretty sure once u start pinning you want more water on the walls just to insure the humidity in the tub is higher I've done some runs with minimal misting basically what yours looks like and they just seemed to go a bit slower than the rest best thing to do is experiment get 2 or 3 going and fuck with them at different stages see what happens and learn I've learned the same variety can look very different just by changing the room it's in kind of like if u have ever grown weed weather it's the altitude amount of airflow or anything at all can make quite a big difference

And example for what I mean by they can look alot different just by changing rooms I gave my buddy a tub to show him how to do everything I gave him colonized jars used the same amount of water same substrate everything was the exact same as I did it the caps looks totally different the fruits were slightly different color and slightly smaller also when harvesting they held onto the substrate alot harder and everything was made exactly the same it was the environment that drastically changed how they ended up so what works for one person might not for another so just experiment

Dude, thanks so much for the replies Spread! Super helpful. That's real interesting about the differences in your grows. I hope to have more tubs going on my next run, I started with just the one. I'm realizing more and more how risky that is.. haha

Yea considering how cheap a couple extra tubs and jars are and for what you get out of them it seems crazy to just do 1 lol
