If you make the sub in the shoebox on the thinner side a lot of kinds won’t really get much taller than the lid.
Or you could put clothespins on the corners or foil balls or something as a spacer and stack them that way.

I don’t think any type of tub is really fanned anymore.
Maybe sgfc but even that I’ve seen people stop fanning.
As long as there’s no gasket to seal the lid it’ll be ok.

Both types work.
Ohh-we you can just use a grocery bag on top. Just use the lid until you've got a nice pinset and then pull a grocery bag down close and fluff the top up.

I like your immediate denial of involvement... lol. Do people usually use tin foil for a liner? And doesnt the electrical tape kinda kill the FAE?
*edit: the more I look at the picture the more it bothers me... why the bigass hole with the microphone tape... and I see it's not tinfoil but still... wtf? Lol

Man I have trouble keeping up with you folks nowadays. Just not enough hours in the day I guess. I've been trying to print my melmacs.
Out of probably 12 caps I think I got like 1 or 2 dark print and 3 or 4 that are acceptable but alot lighter.
Some of the caps had dark gills and some had very light gills. All had dark black or purple spores though.

Some had caps that wouldn't flatten out. Almost looked like button mushrooms. Some caps did flatten. Some caps had nipple most didn't.
This one had some weird gills

Some had stems like PE

Most had regular ol stems though

I sure did get alot of variances in genetics for this being a clone. It really feels like I'm working with a unstabilized variety here I also feel like I'm growing out a piece of history. That pretty cool if you ask me. Anyways I just thought I'd leave this here for anyone that cares to read or is interested in melmac. Great genetics just wish I could get my hands on the PE pheno melmac. this was supposed to be that

Has anyone else had a similar issue?
sounds like your vent/gauge could have been clogged and it may have been way past 15 psi

I tried to search for that particular filter by the number provided in the title of the ebay listing. I found it on amazon for quite a bit cheaper, and it included the efficiency of 99.97%. Astro Cel HEPA

So you know how after you shake a jar at 100% all the myc basically vanishes? Is it bad to spawn it to bulk if it still looks like that? I remember aka said he just spoons his out but how can you tell whether or not it’s bacterial that way?

bacterial myc is much more difficult to break apart. to the point, if its in a jar, I sometimes can't break them apart very well at all. If you shake it and it breaks apart very easily, thats a good indicator of a healthy jar.

Bout to buy a case of petris after a long as time. I've forgotten, is there really a preference in vented vs. Nonvented for our purposes?

I believe I read somewhere that vented tends to colonize faster but also dries quicker. I’m not sure about condensation but I’d assume vented would create less during colonization.

All of my jars have been hard to break up so far but if I shake the fuck outta them they break down into single grains. There’s usually a little white residue on the grains after they’re broken up though which is bacteria I’m assuming. It’s tough because sometimes they look fine (to my untrained eye), not icecream-y or super dense white and no wet spots up against the glass.

A question for the identifiers among us: is there much of a risk in confusing cultivated varieties like RW with endemic poisonous species with similar colour and morphology? I am making an effort to look for cube identifiers while harvesting and processing, but how close will other species look to a leucistic cube, say destroying angel or something similar?
