If you're looking for quick you'll want to steer clear of PE.

What I'm hearing is "I need/want a load of mushrooms fast", it's ok, rooky mistake. You will need patience in this hobby especially when starting out. As the illustrious Alan Watts once said "it's the doing of it rather than the doning of it"

TOC is quick, PE varieties are an exercise in humility and patience. Ted has a nice thread for you to read though:

It took me almost 8 months before I had my first flush of more than 14g, these things take a little figuring out before you are pulling oz's off your sub. But once you start its kinda like a train it just keeps on rolling once you figure the mushroom out.

No, add as much as you want, whenever you want, hot water you dump on the coir doesn't do anything to disinfect/sterilize it anyhow.

I understand it for the most part I can make tubs completely full so when u look down from the top u cant even see the substrate but I know some colonize and fruit faster than other I'm just wondering in people own opinion what is what fastest variety from mixing a tub to getting the first harvest

Would using cold water work just as well with CVG prep or does the boiling water actually pasteurize it/is necessary?

I just found a bucket with old CVG left in it. About 3 months old. No mold. Not going to use it but it looks totally fine.

Some people have had issues even boiling their well water. I think it may have been Yesum, I can't remember. I think they ended up getting a filtration system but I might be thinking of someone else. RO I think.

Just to put it out there in case you continue having some issues even with the water boiled

@Sh4dows
Thanks for the input bro. I did a 60 SB run before this and got 100% success. Using boiled water.
But I do need to  quit bein cheap and get a ro system. Haven’t looking into it too much figured it would be a lot of work.

Do you think it’s bad to mist and dunk sub in my well water ? Considering the fact that it’s no good for the unbucket tek.

Just spawned some more tubs. Making me 10 of these. My other six are almost colonized tho so these will probably fruit a little later.

Heres the starting material.

Heres the spawn after breaking it up. I used a bicycle tire.

Heres a look at the inside of a tub before mixing the grain with the poo.

Jars are hectic af to clean.

The end result is worth it tho.

Now its time too kick back and wait. Lol

Fucking gnats. They came a few weeks ago, I got them at least somewhat under control with yellow sticky paper, but now I'm suspecting they're carrying trich across different shoeboxes. They were all from different spawn, different cultures, inoculated on different dates. I rarely get trich otherwise.

Using boiling water pasteurizes the coir USUALLY in my case. Everyone says there’s no need but as an amateur it’s an extra layer of safety from my usually contaminate body lol
