Actually, it's both I think. Got to start labeling. Having a little tussle with benzos atm so I got to automate

I've had a couple people email asking what I would be using a HEPA filter for. I'm just planning on using the "making a laminar flow cabinet for propogating orchids". Anyone have a better excuse? Lol

You could say I'm doing mushroom culture work. People grow edibles all the time. I guess they are called gourmet

Yeah I used that excuse one time and the dude was really sketchy about it lol. But I think it's cause of the way I worded it. I said "edible" mushrooms instead of "gourmet" so of course he started asking all these questions. Luckily the quote was too high so I just said peace. But I'll try it again using gourmet instead of edible

It’s funny how strange and nervous people get when I say I grow mushrooms. Especially when they ask what kind of pets I have when I’m buying coir. I think about lying sometimes but I figure it’s better if more people are exposed to the facts. It’s happening
A guy on a trail asked what I was looking for and then ignored me and sped up once I said mushrooms

That's the truth man. I intend to try out gourmet mushrooms on a small scale for cooking once I get a flow hood, but I still wont feel comfortable telling people I know that I grow mushrooms lol. It's a strange stigma around them. That's the only reason I'm worried at all about mentioning the word to someone selling me a filter.

They don't look like a cube. Did you print them?

Like why are people asking what your doing with it. Just sell the the filter or don't. What you do is your business.
If someone asked me what I was doing with it, I would tell them I am creating a filter to capture all the bullshit on the internet.

See how the gills attach to the stem in this picture? I don't think you found a cube because the full placement. I'm not an ID guy though

Yeah they said they're now asking for any quotes on 2" and 4" filters. Like why ask? What's it gonna do? You really think someone's gonna say "yeah I'm using it to grow cubes"? If they're that stupid then they're not gonna be able to build a FH with the filter anyways so may as well sell it to them still lol

I don't think a 2-4 inch filter is sufficient anyway.

Even if it has sufficient resistance? I've seen people use anywhere from the 2" filters to 12" filters to make a flow hood. The only one I'm interested in is a 4" they have

Gotcha! Automation is awesome, i just think for cubes it's difficult because they don't need much. Pans on the other hand, your setup looks like it will be fine. I'd probably go with 1"/25mm ID tubing from pump to tub, and start with running the pump 15 minutes every 2 hours. Seems to be the suggested starting point with Pans, then keep a close eye on it for a couple days and adjust as needed. I don't see a need to have a separate tub with desiccant. The only use i could see is drying the air, but that's the opposite of what Pans need lol.

I can't honestly say, I have seen people use them also, but that doesn't indicate that they work creating laminar flow. You could try it but what if it doesn't work? Kinda a waste of money if you ask me.
