Hi just looking for some advice around condensation in a grow bag that’s 85 percent colonised, is it a worry?

Excess condensation can be a sign of bacterial contamination. But sometimes it is normal. This is why Ricky said to post picks.

Looks like some bacteria in the bag. Not the end of the world. You can give it a few more days to finish or gently message the grains and get it to mix up one last time. If it is healthy it will recolonize the uncolonized grains.

Does the mycelium look healthy to you, it’s my first time?

What should I be looking for to indicate the myc is ready for grain?

It's hard to put all characteristics in words. But in a very general sense you want strong, organized growth with no indication of contamination anywhere on the dish. The dish in my signature would be a decent candidate for grain. Even then, it could've used one more transfer if I had the time. Go look at Stro's agar and cleanup tek and there's some good pics in there of grain ready plates. Also, just checking any agar teks from TC's or other reputable cultivators will normally show you some grain ready plates.

Thanks Gan

By strong and organised do you mean equally fast in all directions, with rhizomorphic growth all over and no sectors?

Sorry for all the questions there’s so much to learn

Bags get way more condensation than jars do for me. The core gets way warmer than in jars.

Not necessarily, because growth like that would be limited to monocultures or clones with very few remaining strains. If you have a plate with mold that's a little grown out, go look at it. The growth will be all over the place. There's no real predictable pattern for where it will grow and how strongly it will grow in those regions. That's the opposite that you want from your clean myc. It should be growing in a consistent and moderately predictable pattern. It doesn't have to be rhizo and it can have sectors. But go look at a clean culture of healthy myc here, then look up some pictures of mole growing and you'll see just how much more organized myc growth is when compared to the crazy, random growth of mold.

Imo these are plates with solid organized growth. Only one is cubes so the myc looks different but you get the idea.

Whereas these need more work. Usually stuff like this happens early on when you start from spore.

I don't trust the PESA. I know you were answering a question but that one looks like it is hiding something.

lol yeah that things off in a box somewhere. Definitely one of the weirdest plates I’ve had, later on the myc came back like normal all around it so there are those little gaps in the middle.

The pic to the left of that one tripped me out too. It’s a rusty whyte pin clone. That stuff is so tomentose. It took two transfers from a clone to get normal growth.

Was waiting for my pc to get up to pressure earlier and my weight was rockin like a motherfucker even though the gauge said it was at 10 psi so I turned my gas off and as soon as I did the needle shot up to 20:mad2:. Anyone else had this happen? Should I get a new gauge or is this a one off kinda thing lol.

I’ve been checking the vent religiously lately, that stuff scares me.

Speaking of pc, when I’m venting I’ll occasionally hear a little kinda popping noise followed by hissing like when you crack an egg into a hot pan.

Anybody know if it’s just water boiling and hitting the hot sides once in a while? I always think maybe it’s pushing out pockets of air when that happens.

Isn't that just little droplets of water boiling around the vent tube?

a few weeks ago I turned off my PC then like 30-40 min later the overpressure plug blew and  a grain/steam volcano came spewing out and lasted for about 10 minutes before I threw a beach towel over it.  the bags some how expanded around the spacer I put on top and clogged the vent:facepalm3:
