You know now that you mention it yeah. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that at the time. I kept getting pissed off cuz my armholes are jagged and I kept shredding new gloves on them.

I was thinking it was from breathing or being lower creating different currents when I moved.

The blower I have is dayton 1tdu2.
Is there a smaller one that will work?
I want an inline fan equivalent really.

Also has anyone had success using a pillowcase for sterilizing your bulk sub ? I need some way that doesn't involve jars.

What kind of sub?

Spawning to sterilized manure will give you a moldfest like no other.

I'm not sure I understand the question but you must use a band with the metal lids. Just leave the band pretty damn loose while pcing slightest pressure any more is overtighting.

are you talking about the 2 piece metal lids with lids and rings?  if so I screw em on all the way.  the top seals either way and the rings arent any harder to remove after the cycle like the plastic ones are if you over tighten em

I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on this lmao. Hardest lid I've ever had to remove is a 2 piece metal lid that's been overtightened. Just like canning there is a procedure to tightening the lid you aren't supposed to use alot of tension on the lid the rubber gasket is what makes the seal not the pressure from being tightened. Metal expands and contracts too not just plastic.

That does not look healthy at all. That puddle is metabolites and is the mycelliums reaction to something it doesn't like probably bacteria.
I'd say just leave it and see what you get but dumping it probably won't hurt either.

I havent ever had issues.  the metal lids are easier for me to remove than the plastic ones.

when they start rusting is when the trouble starts for me

Yea the plastic ones can be a bitch. I just had a nightmare with overtightened metal once. Flipped metal lids can be especially hard to get off if overtightened.
I've found regular mouth to be way less prone to overtightening for whatever reason.
I really like regular mouth with plastic lids.

Are you using bags and spawning in sterile environment? That's crazy if you are getting away with it open air.
Id say definitely that you need to pasteurize but if you've been lucky this far maybe you can continue to get away with it. Who knows.
