According to some calculations site inside my car should be around 155 most of the day. I’m gonna take the temp gun out there tomorrow and see.
You can also use your car as a solar oven to make some delicious treats lmao.
Great idea! Lay some tin foil on your dash and dry those shroomz out with nature! (watch out for cops thou)

Im going bulk soon and expect to have tubs stacked to the ceiling. I'm kinda torn between what tubs to use tho and what ratios of spawn to use. Im thinking I can do five monotubs with 5 quarts of spawn to 15 quarts H-poo in a 58 quart tub.
Or I could do a bunch of smaller ones.

Wow, I've been using a handsaw but I have one of those in your picture! Didn't even think about it, even though it's sitting right beneath the table I use for myco work. Good tip!

I'm currently transitioning away from full size monos and switching to sweater boxes... same length and width only half the height... I can stack 2 where I would normally only have 1 mono... and so far I've been gettin about 1 dry oz. Per quart of spawn in the minis... trying to get that closer to 1.5-2 per quart... been playing with sub depth lately as well...

Sweater boxes are the same size as monos?? No wonder I think everyone grows monster shrooms.
Underbed tubs are probably the best for huge bulk if you’re in a drier climate and running varieties that aren’t gigantic . I could see them being too big to work perfectly with the lid on in some places.
It’s an enormous surface area with perfect amount of height. Most shrooms will be fine but extra big ones will just hit the lid and go sideways a little.

They aren't identical in size but they're close enough... lol. And I also ran a few tests with spawn to sub ratios and found i can get away with 3 qts of spawn in the monos running a 4:1 ratio.

58qt sterilite with white lids. That's what I use and I run 30 tubs at my place and 20 at a buddies. Best for the cost and completely passive when dialed in. I don't even touch tubs til harvest
I cant possibly imagine trying to run the amount of bulk I do in shoeboxes or sweaterboxes. That would be a legit nightmare.

The 16gt sweater boxes I have are definitely smaller at the base than regular monos... maybe like 3” on both long and short sides.. ~6 total qrts (2 being myco qts) of mixed spawn/bulk gets me about 2.5” of sub depth

Speaking of shoeboxes... Do Rusty W. go all screwy like this or am I missing something? I mean the jar looks like this but not much room for screwing around, heh. BTW that jar's just for fun watching on the coffee table. Update: 78.8 grams 1st flush! The little jar that could!

Never got a firm grasp on what a myco quart is... lol. I do everything by weight... so when I prep my grain jars I'll load 300-350g prepped grains per jar depending on if I'm dropping plates in or g2g-ing... once they're fully colonized I throw my tub on the scale dump out my spawn, say 700g. So then I'll mix in 1400g and then I like to "case" with a little extra coir/verm just so theres no exposed grain...

Myco quart is like 75% full.
Idk if it’s a coincidence or what but lately I’ve had a couple jars just over half full and they’ve colonized much better than my normal ones even accounting for less grain.
Either coincidence or a ge thing.

My growth seems pretty slow. It's been about six days at this point and this is as far as my jars have grown. Not enough air? Air exchange is from a large screwdriver-punctured hole with polyfill-- roughly 1/4". Did I over-hydrate my grains? Oats were from Bod's oat prep and sterilization teks. I followed the teks to the tee, squeezed the oats in a paper towel and barely any water was on them before sterilizing.

Have you run that particular genetics before? I've had jars take 2 weeks to look like that... but I've also had other kinds that'll run a jar in 4-5 days...
