I have a mirro PC from 2008 and I haven't replaced anything on it. Even the gasket is still fine as long as I lubricate it. Otherwise it leaks.
Doesn't have a rubber blow out plug though they make them with some other weird metal contraption. No idea if it's rubber inside or what but, it isn't the same as the presto or the AA
I have only used it steady for 2 years but I have used it on and off since 2008...surprising it hasn't needed any replacements but the gasket is made of a different material than the presto

Says something about a price match on the receipt. Is that how you scored this deal?
That is a sweet deal petsmart eco earth in Canada is I think $10 or $11 CAD now for a 3 pack

Check it out strike while its hot.
This is what the pet store in my area has going now!

Seems like a good deal. How does it compare to the other online sources?
I know we have to watch out for the brands that come treated with fungicides.
LOL I just realized thats still about 3x the price of the original deal haha.
So not that great compared to that sale.

Well my oldest plates are starting to dry up so I’ve got a bottle of super high nute agar cooking and I’m finally gonna make plates of all my good cultures to stick in the fridge.
Also i ran out of space and had no where to put my newest ones.
Just swiped atl7, tamp, golden halo, b+, Ecuador, and made pin clones for rw and pf classic, neither of which I’ve actually grown yet. Then I made plates of king oysters and lions mane for the first time. I have a jar of pearl oyster spawn ready to go so I’m gonna throw some used up shoebox subs in the pc tomorrow.
My ufo shoebox is like three times faster in the coir than it was on grain which is a nice surprise.
And I finally have ten super healthy looking jars bouncing back from shaking. It makes me so happy to see the big puffs of healthy myc after like 6 weeks of garbage spawn while I used the shitty wbs and SFDs up.

I gotta get more big tubs. Shoeboxes just aren’t doing it for me anymore, especially now that I have an actual pc and making spawn isn’t super time consuming.
Ms PE, Melmak, toc, and either Tasmanian or amazon are all on deck for underbeds soon.

There's no limit to how many you want to purchase, but because I had a coupon code for 25% off on a single item and limited to 1 per person so I just bought a 3 pack. I had 2 other people with me so they helped me purchase. If you download petsmart app and play their treat trail game and get 9 stars, you will be offered the same 25% off coupon. Plus, if you register on their site and fill out info about your pets, you will get 1000 petsmart points which you can apply to your order for a $2.50 discount.
@sh4d0ws
It wasn't really a price match. In store it cost 10.99 for a 3 pack but their website/app had a sale for $7.69 so they adjusted the price

CactiChris said: So just random question for everyone, how long do you use your pressure canner seal and blow out plug before you replace it?
this depends on how often you let it get past 20 psi. the more you do the less often it lasts. just blew mine tonight and it was on there for not even 6 months
Ooo that sucks man! I usually run at 16 psi. Definitely over that 200 jar mark on these seals. Was it a pretty loud pop? Or did you seal just not let you build pressure?
Is there blow out plugs that do this at 20 PSI? How far past 20 PSI were you ted? I thought even the presto blowouts didn't go until mid twenties but maybe I am mistaken
I had the highpressure plug on there. I dunno what happened cause the cycle finished and I turned it off and then like 15-20 min later I hear this deafinig explosion and a grain/steam volcano was spurting out of the pressure plug hole. I mannaged to throw a beach towel over it but it got a good 5 minutes of spewing before I got to it. the spacers were bent to shit but the bags only had a single tiny pinhole in each one except 2 that didnt pop and 1 that had maybe a 2" hole that was on the top layer. maybe the bags expanding on cooldown increased pressure and the vent was somehow clogged? thats my theory so far

Also for what its worth I have picked up from them during lockdown. I wasn't allowed to enter the store but I made sure they had the bricks in stock online then went there and ordered 7 from the dude outside, they carried it out for me and put it in my trunk. Paid through the car window using debit machine

damn ted that sounds kinda fucking freaky!
those high pressure plugs don't blow until above 27 psi or something crazy
guess it ccould have been worse, glad nothing too bad happened. it does sound like maybe the vent got clogged

I recently got sent a pe swab, would it be better to just dab it right in the middle or put it near the edge of the plate and do a serial dilution with a loop?

I couldn’t find any spec sheets on the NBK blower.
Here’s a link to the sheet for the Dayton blower equivalent :
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71XMM5KjJ7L.pdf
So your filter is rated for 1” w.g. At 1000 CFM if I remember right. Sounds like that blower might be under powered.
You’re probably looking at something more like this. I saw a video of a guy making a 24x48” flow hood and he used two of these.
DAYTON 1TDU2 Blower, 1202 cfm, 115/230V, 7.30/3.70A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721J5LTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_..bTEbKTXQV4T
But it looks like you want to be able to push 100CFM per ft^3 of your HEPA. Yours is rated at 1.0” w.g. At 1000CFM but you probably want a pre-filter.
For the blower curve you want it to be able to push ~400 CFM at a 1.2” w.g. Pressure drop.

@gizmo
You want 100ft/minute across the surface of your filter.
Your filter is 4ft² 100ft/minute x 4ft² = 400ft³(CFM) minimum - 480ft³(CFM)maximum. Maximum CFM for the filter is 20% of minimum calculated flow.
Your blower will need to push 400 to 480 CFM @ whatever resistance your filter is rated for @ 100 CFM. Once you consult your filter chart you can match the blower. Once you figure out the resistance of your main filter you will have to add the resistance of your prefilter. So let's say your filter has 1" WG at 100 CFM but your prefilter adds an additional .4"wg your blower will have to push 400-480 CFM @ 1.4" wg.
Check out this HVAC video on resistances of average furnace filters available for prefilter.
All of this is on my flowhood build in my journal:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26544049/page/1
