I’ve been thinking about putting a shoebox outside in a shady area with like 10 inch grass to see if they’ll grow.
There’s almost no humidity here so I’d have to hope the grass kept thing decent.
Build a little hoop house. I'm going to be doing an outdoor hoop house with unpasteurized store bought cow manure and shredded straw grow soon 🤞
I'm thinking of seeding the sub with germinated rye grass seed for added microclimate.

Sweet!
I've got a few plates looking like that I'm waiting to see do the same!
Did you streak the swab over the plate or go straight to burying the cotton in the center?

My swab wasn't germinating so I sterilized some tweezers and yanked some cotton off of the tip and planted it on the dish.

Just a quick 1. Went picking wild shrooms yesterday 1st time of the season and fire had been through & no mushees. Even tho the trees were starting to recover is it likely spores were wiped out with the heat?

It's a good possibility... wood fire can burn upwards of 800°F... FAR more than what's necessary for sterilization
Also possible that the fire has rendered conditions less than favorable... a good rain may help

Fires are key triggers for huge flushes of morels I've seen thousands come up after a forest fire in the British Columbian Rockies.

I use white lids on my shoeboxes and black lids on my underbeds and they do fine.
I do try to dub the underbed once it’s got pins though.

It may not be cultivation related but I'm beginning to peice together my flow hood and have been looking for a blower, just curious if this 1tdt5 would do the trick. https://www.grainger.com/mobile/product/DAYTON-OEM-Blower-1TDT5?searchQuery=1tdt5&searchBar=true
The filter I'm getting is a KOCH H66G3X1 Filter,HEPA99.99,Prtcl,24x24x12. Im not exactly sure the exact specs on a blower I need for this filter but I'm sure someone here would be able to point me in the right direction. The 1tdu2 is about 100$ more than the 1tdt5 thats why im looking at that model.

Has anyone here ever accidentally isolated a culture that only grows blobs? Or is it likely just a bacterial issue with my grain, the strain is GT.

Could a grow be done by pf tek> shredding pf tek when colonized and dump it in by way of Damion's coir tek? I want to make sure I am covering all bases due to being new to the subject itself. Seemed implied in Bod's easy cultivation list. Thank you in advance!

I've been thinking about that... It's interesting learning just what too wet or too full really is. For jars I was shooting for 3/4 full, prolly sometimes more..."more is better". So then I added some G2G, lots. The funny thing I haven't seen mentioned is how mycelium starts to take up room also, and now I can't shake'em properly.
So ya, GDF, good point...

Hello, I wanted to ask a question related to contamination. my kit in general looks good and the shrooms look healthy but I found a shroom that looks kind of black/green and I am afraid of contaminations. What is your opinion?

How do you guys clean out moldy jars??
I have a few that are BAD. I just took one and opened it then banged it upside down on the trashcan to knock the wbs out and a giant cloud of green mold exploded from it.
So fucking gross. I’ve never dealt with this before I’m assuming pc or open and submerge in bleach water.

I wash mine in dawn. When you reload and PC anything you feel might be left behind will be killed during the PC cycle.
