Thats my shit. I was womdering if anyone else did this. I mean I use water not iso but same concept. I hate trimming liners so I precut them about 3 or 4 inches bigger than the top of the tub, then spray the walls with water, mix spawn and sub then level, and done. I was thinking about making a writeup for it but im too fking lazy.

Hi people! Hope you are doing okay.
I have these two neglected plates from about 5 months ago which are quite contaminated apparentely. At least the one with the white dots, the other one COULD just have normal metabolites stone producers make (probably contaminated though)
Here is the thing i dont know if what looks like stones is a massive contamination that will soon mutate to look somewhat like hulk.
What are your opinions? Are these salvagable through cleaning?
They came from a VERY old spore syringe that had germinated spores. And i am very very broke to get a new print right now. (i would love to trade though)

I do the exact same thing. Spritz the sides then lay the liner in

Just curious.. i saw a video where a guy painted the bottom like 2.5" of his tubs flat black (on the outside) rather than dealing with liners, wouldn't this be easier in the long run?
Also.. do you guys thing liners really work? i get insane side/bottom mushrooms growing and i cannot stop it no matter what i do to top conditions.

Painting the bottom black wouldn't help. Only if you believe light causing it instead of conditions. Do you tamp your substrate and spawn mixture down?

This is old outdated info. Used to be thought that light caused side pins. We now know it's the microclimate that is between the sub and tub wall. If you use a liner it sticks to the substrate and shrinks with it preventing a microclimate from forming and causing LESS side pins. If you use a liner it should help but keeping the surface conditions is still necessary and it's better to master surface conditions than to count on liners as a crutch. I like liners personally because they make cleanup of the tub much easier. If you have clean spawn then good surface conditions are all you need to get a good top pinset and less on the sides but a liner and good surface conditions won't hurt either.

Yer absolutely right, seems like my sterile tek has a ways to go.
My little theory is that since I'm using Oat Broth, the agar should be PC'd longer, like 50min. 10g Agar, 7.5g LME, 500 mL oat broth

Idk what oat broth is but if it’s like oat boil water than you don’t need the added lme . It’s either Lme or oat broth- water I use undiluted and diluted after boil oat water, pc for 40 min at 15 psi. works great
