Yeah I couldn’t believe how easy crossing was, I dumped sketchy jars of a gt clone and a Malabar clone into the same shoebox and got a bunch of definite crosses.
It really helps to have distinct looking cultures going in though otherwise it’d be impossible to tell.
So cuz I’m trying to fruit pans this is the first time in months that my growroom has been consistently in the high 70s 24 hours a day.
All my spawn jars exploded, I didn’t think they were that slow but I must’ve gotten used to it overtime.

Cool. I'm about to toss qt of ape (from spores of another of my apes) and qt of AA+ clone and qt of white tailfeathers (wtf) clone together in a mono and see how they come out. I know the looks of each one so I should know if it worked

When transferring agar to grain what do you do?
Do you transfer multiple wedges from one plate to multiple master jars?
Or do you put the whole puck to a master then do G2G?

So I've always thrown out grain jars that have obvious beads of metabolites on colonized grains. Is this too drastic of a step? Are metabolites always an indication of bacterial infection or can it also be a natural function of healthy mycelium digesting substrate?
You're better off chucking them. I've spawned sketchy metabolite spawn, and it was good for about 100-125g wet/qt so it can produce something, but if you're not in a rush, chuck it and start new. Totally worth the time. 100% agree with Cron, shoeboxes are great for sketchy spawn because you could still get some mushies.

For the sake of using “all parts of the Buffalo” I would cut the puck into eighths, leaving the outer edge, and nocc up 8 masters. Using a whole puck is a bad idea because if there’s any contamination present you have only 1 sick jar rather than 2 sick jars and 8 clean ones. If you’re worried about colonization times you should go with LI or LC, but an eighth of a plate will do the same thing as whole puck with a properly timed shake.
Make the plate look like an 8-spoked bike tire, or a New York style (thick crust) pizza.

Thanks I just sterilized 4 half quart jars of WBS. I'll do the drop the day after today.. So tomorrow..
I'm gonna drop one of my T1 plates that looks clean and then a T2 I'll do the g2g with. Prolly fruit the T1 by its self in a shoebox just to be safe. Then take one of my T2s and do prolly 10 more pasty plates to preserve the culture. This agar stuff is fun huh.

So I got 14 jars + 2 jars of Spore water the one on the left is pan cyan Jamaican, the one on the right is pe6. The pans I have strands of mac floating around, and it's just distilled water. I'm out of a gar because there's no stores around here that sell it and it's going to be a month for Amazon to get it to my house. I got peat I got peat, coir, the I got vermiculite I got chicken manure, I got fresh horseshit I have drying right now And pasteurized black kow I'm just looking for a good clone of each. What do you guys suggest I do? By the way the new Ozium carbon smells better than the original

Anyone seen this before? Colonised a bag of Uncle Ben's brown rice with a Colombian liquid culture. Broke it up and spawned to bulk just now. Couple of bits left in the bag have turned blue within minutes. Is this bruising? Was I too rough breaking it up and ruined it? Could it be contam? It was pure white before and a good strong mushroom smell.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this.
